We'll finish mid table. You think we'll be relegated?

    Boruc

    Chambers Fonte Yoshida Clyne

    Davis Wanyama JWP

    Tadic Pelle Ramirez

Look at that. See, I don't even think that team goes down this season. And we will be adding to that, whilst Morgan and Rodriguez are possible ones we will have too.

I'm not making any judgements about exactly where we'll finish at the moment because nobody knows what our squad will be but I think most people accept we won't finish as high as 8th this season. 9th or lower is a step back, maybe not a big step back but still a step back.

If that team was our best XI (it won't be) then I think there's a chance we would get relegated.

With you there. Would like to see more signings but not worried we will struggle. We also have Targett McQueen etc to breakthrough.

We could definitely go down with that. The attack has two guys who have never played in the league (one of whom has very big question marks before he's even played) and one who hasn't exactly set it alight, and isn't really a winger anyway. Two of the three midfielders are very lightweight and will get bullied out of games. One of the defenders isn't Prem standard and another is out of position. That's not even to mention how incredibly thin the squad behind that is - one injury off the likes of Hooiveld, Gallagher and the rest of the kids being thrown in to start.

Thankfully it won't be our team, but it still highlights that there's a lot of work to be done.

People still obsessed with putting Clyne on the left.

Oh I don't think for a minute he'll play there. Nor would I want him to. I just think that team would stay up this year!

Yeh. Guan said we are looking to bring in a lb that makes our lbs like our rbs. Were both are around the same age and quality.

Slightly harsh on Davis, but yeah I would be pretty worried if that were our best 11 next season, but as you say, thankfully it won't be

I think that team would be in a relegation scrap, saying otherwise seems a bit naive

Ah, the old my argument is right or you are naive gambit. Personally, I think that is a very strong midfield, with plenty of other good options to come in. The defence might be a bit shakey, but there's no doubt we'll improve it. I think the class in that team - the core of the team that finished 8th, plus a couple of the best players in the Netherlands - is good enough for midtable.

There are some pretty crappy teams in this league. We'll be alright, especially after we spend the moolah.

People have different opinions. Yours seem to be negative, while other peoples are positive.

It's still much better than some of the ****e that went down last year. Motivated, decent professionals there. Solid and unspectacular, and I forgot Cork (just like the club)!

And in any case, as I and countless others have said, it won't be our team anyway. I was just illustrating that to get a reasonable first 11 we don't need that much more, and that everything will be dandy!

Why do you think that's a team that won't get us relegated? I am not especially impressed with it.

Borucs form dipped after he came back from injury.

    Yoshida was scarey last season

Tadic and Pelle haven't played in the EPL and may not make it.

Ramirez has never been the player we hoped he might

    Yep! I am worried

It's way too early to be panicking yet (I NEVER panic!...:emoticon-0110-tongu). There are many factors and unanswered questions yet, such as, how will the players respond to the new Management team and style of play?, who will come in and leave?, will the young prospects make the step up? as countless others have done before them. Personally, I have high hopes for Chambers (possibly as a CB), Reed, JWP and Targett this season.
I don't think that there is a snowball's chance in hell that we will go down next season, we have a good Manager and a good young squad, which will be strengthened before Anfield.

Nah it's just the same 5 or 6 people over and over again. On Saintsweb it's nearly the whole board.

Well if you assume our signings are going to be bad then I'm not surprised! Bloody hell! What a bunch of gimps.
