    Great topic!

The good the bad and the ugly is a brilliant soundtrack! 'The story of a soldier', is a great part of the film and is made by the music.

A few recent films with great soundtracks in my opinion (to the point the film was greatly improved due to the score) would have to be TRON: Legacy, Daft Punk did a great job with this I saw the film at the pics and the visual and music made the experience terrific! Also Tarantino films always have great soundtracks EG Django Unchained was excellent!

    Great, great topic!

    Loved that scene!

Anybody got a favourite opening scene of a movie? Mine is the fight at five points in Gangs of New York.

Nothing beats Once Upon a Time the West. That fly on the gun, man, that is just mesmerising.

One of my favourite scenes was when Clint Eastwood & Eli Wallach set off to shoot the bounty hunters in the 'Good the bad and the Ugly', I seem to remember they walk up a dusty street and Morricone music kicks in loud. They both have their necks well out which helps the brilliance of it all..<ok>

As a collector of theme music, John barry (you only live twice,Midnight cowboy), Ennio morricone (Once upon a time in the west and America, John Williams (Indiana jones, Star wars), I have all their music, Miklos rosa (Ben hur and many epics) Max steiner, Lalo shiffrin (Enter the dragon, dirty harry) Bernard Hermann (The day the earth stood still, Vertigo,Psycho and many others) picking the best ever is impossible I reckon. Did you realise there is NO music at all in 'the birds' !, only the lovely Tippi hedren playing Aberesque on the piano.
