Reports are linking us with Carroll again. He has been injury-prone, so what do you guys think about having him back with us, as opposed to signing others(Benteke comes to mind here).

A dangerous player on his day but far too many injuries to make it worth a punt on him. And his wages would most likely be a problem.

You never know, might be worth buying him back on the cheap. Get him to score a few goals pre season, and you might get Brenda to buy him at 28 million this time to replace the sewer rat thats gone to Barca

I do like Carroll but he's far too injury-prone now. It would be disastrous if he was our main striker signing.

That depends on how you define "cheap". Apparently our bid is about 15million. I would think that's a little overpriced, and most up here would feel that way too.

If he was fit and flying he'd be a great signing in our current side. Exactly what we need. The myth about him making us hoofball is bollocks. The lad can play any style.

The problem for me is he is really really injury prone. Plus I'd be concerned about his reintegration into the area and his extra curricular activities! For the money involved I think there are possibly better options. Whether they would want to come here is anyones guess.

I am a big fan of his abilities though, at his best he is Ferguson esque and downright unplayable. He had a peak Vidic all over the shop and not many could do that.

Honestly think we have moved on. WHU will want £15m... although David Gold said on twitter last night it would take £100m.

I don't think he's worth £15M. Then again, there has been stupid money paid for a lot of very average strikers this summer so maybe that's the going rate. I'm a fan of his and think he is better at playing good football than a lot of people realise. I just think £15 Million is a hell of a lot of money for him and think there must be surely better value for money out there.

I'd have him back. Not just for his attacking ability but for his ability defending set plays. It's invaluable, especially for a team which is historically bad in this area (which we are). He's a great leader of the line, makes the ball stick and would give our team a new dimension. A resounding yes from me on this one.

Injury prone, but a right handful on his day, terrifies defenders. Yes from me.

You watch, Carroll would suddenly be very fit playing for us. He only really cared playing for us.

I still think that dive against us (for Liverpool) was the only way he could think of of not scoring. Not very professional but a genuine fan I believe.

Some players just care about their team and nothing else. See gerrard for england vs gerrard for liverpool. Mikey Owen only ever cared for england after liverpool. Scholes and Giggs seemed to only care about United games.

No, not because I don't have faith in the guy if he's played in the right set up, but we don't have the players to give him the right sort of deliveries. He's unplayable in the right set up, we proved that when he scored 13 goals in half a season for us.

I'd take him back for 4/5m, and as a plan B type of player, but that's it. I'd not invest a large amount of cash in the bloke.
