I think you're reading too much into the match. It was just a kickabout. Won't have any bearing on the coming season. Just look at past friendlies of other clubs. Some of the top clubs play badly and lose to lower league opposition and then qualify of the Champions League Others do well and get relegated. Friendlies don't mean anything at all. Stop pretending they do.

If this was a kick about then we shouldn't have bothered. An intra-squad match behind closed doors would have been more productive. WTF Rangel was doing on the first goal is beyond me; that was a sick combination of lazy and abyssmal. I would back anybody on this board to have handled that situation better than him and Trammell should have stopped that shot at that angle.

Amat wears number 2 usually but he wasn't listed on the line-ups. Not sure what that players was doing either on the second goal.

Even if the game doesn't count for anything against crap opposition, professional pride has to come into it, and there was none in what I saw in that performance.

Was Monk really satisfied with that out match ... I hope not.

Both Rangel and Tremell should have done better but I doubt either expected Nathan to gift the ball in that position.

Yep, a little worried that all the news is about players leaving and those left are performing like that. Heard some interview about a change of tactic. From highlights all I could see was long cross balls by Shelvey. We need some defenders with pace and I am not sure Tremmel should be falling to the ground so early.

Someone please explain why we are selling Vorm & Davies? Just hope Bony rumours are not true. We can't rebuild a team in a month.

You must be reading only half the news. Plenty of news about players coming as well. Latest story - Ben leaving and Siggy arriving. Also a few players signing new contracts.

For me, there isn't enough news about players leaving. There are quite a few we need to get rid of ASAP. I want news on them leaving.

I'll explain to you why we are probably selling Davies and Vorm - because we got good offers. It's very simple. Every player can be sold at the right price. Not sure why you find it so difficult to understand.

I agree that we are running out of time to build a new team.

Last summer we had 6 players join in the 1st week of the window. The players we let go were only fringe players.
So we had the previous season's first XI to build on by integrating the new signings.

I agree that pre season friendlies mean very little but given the above scenario the fact that we didn't manage a shot on target last time out, coupled with some comic defending, leaves me very worried indeed.....and no amount of Monk propaganda could make me feel any different.
In fact the more Monk and his supporters shout about how fabulous everything is when in fact very little has been achieved the more I think "we are a ****ing shambles".

Have just seen the "highlights" and we had enough chances to have won easily. Their goals were comedy classics although the first one was a bit of a worry as Rangel was done for pace.

More like back passes. Their keeper didnt have a meaningful save to make.

I think Swansea will end in the bottom three, with all the unrest, don't look a unit at all, Swansea will not be able to keep the "Swansea way" of playing, and garry monk tho he may think it himself does not have knowledge of the way of playing to maximise its potential 100% . the new acquisitions are really not impressive, and definitely relegation standard of players, even a team like leiceister are coming up as a proper unit, no players leaving, the other teams managers have far more experience, and just seem smarter, Garry monk a bit like Williams seem a bit thick. Gus poyet for example, great player once, amazing rescue last season with sunderland, he will have learnt a lot and it looks like they are keeping key players. qpr who are direct candidates, but again harry redknapp is an advantage, being in the game so long, and now the story with qpr being up, down and up. mark hughes, steve bruce, former very good players who have been managers for a long time. don't think there's much harmony in the group, it's not a very big group of players either.
