QPR and Crystal Palace in for Tottenham's Lewis Holtby

QPR and Crystal Palace remain hot on the heels of Lewis Holtby.

The Premier League pair are waiting to discover whether Holtby fits into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Tottenham.

Holtby is wanted for another loan spell in the capital as both sides chase a new winger.

German wideman Holtby, 23, would jump at the chance of a move if he fails to figure once again at White Hart Lane.

He caught the eye at the end of Fulham’s doomed relegation campaign last season.

And he is not prepared to sit on the sidelines under the new Argentine boss as he chases first-team games.

Holtby had to settle for Europa League football under Andre Villas-Boas and was axed by Tim Sherwood.

Now the London clubs will pounce if that pattern continues next season.

A Tottenham insider said: “Lewis’s speed and stamina might suit Pochettino’s style of play.

"But if he is forced to play a bit-part role he will be off."

Now that would be a "nice one Cyril" - despite their dire situation last season, he still looked really good on loan at Fulham.

I thought he was a more central attacking midfielder rather than left wing.

He's one of those players who most people seem to rate, but one that I can't see anything to get excited about at all.

First couple of games for Spurs he looked keen as mustard, but faded into a bit player and struggled to get into the team - difficult to judge on his Fulham games, he didn't seem to get many, either that or was pretty invisible - I thought he always seemed a bit lightweight/easily dispossessed?

This would be good if right. I'm sure we could use some financial clout to beat Palace on any deal.

However, if it is on the cards, I think we would have to wait until deadline day as he will want to see what his postion is with Tottenham.

He would be well worth the wait though!
