Saints win 4 3 FT I don't know the quality of the opposition but this sounds like a decent result. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/19072014-sunderland-u21s-3-4-saints-u21s-1769364.aspx
For the UK-based friendlies, I was going to post up individual match threads just on the day of the game. I don't know how others feel about that?
With Osvaldo and money not being an immediate problem for us then I guess a loan would be acceptable. It's a big hope but if he sorts himself out and has a good season then his price could go back up. I expect we're struggling to get £6m for him at the moment. Anyone know if we'll have streams for the upcoming friendlies? I have more hope in Osvaldo
Does anyone wonder why we're not going on a pre-season tour this year? Ok, Les Reed has said we don't need to due to the quality of Staplewood and, yes, we have players on international duty but surely it's a sure-fire way of getting a feel-good factor back itno the club. Remember the videos from the tour last year? Morale was genuinely excellent and the players clearly had a great time and got to know the coaches more intimately. Anyway, look forward to hearing other people's thoughts, just seems a bit of an odd one to me - hopefully somebody has some further insight to kill my cynicism!
No that wasn't a tour per se. It was an 'ad lib' 4 day trip to Koeman's stomping ground. Last years was a week to a luxury resort in Lucerne, the 2 years before that was similar. Don't misinterpret my question for having a dig at the club, I'm just curious how other's interpret it.
I acknowledge the world cup and Reid's interview as a factor in my post. But out of our players involved, only Ramirez, Maya and Morgan look like staying so don't see this as a proper reason not to allow the rest of the squad (and new management) a sustained session of bonding/preparation. The club knew this a fair while ago. So, thanks for your condescending tone, but you've not really helped to answer my question.
