Division 3 defender is a better way of putting it, the rebranding inflation doesn't as clearly reflect the fact that he is two tiers below us.

When Liverpool bought Keegan, how many divisions seperated the two teams. Keegan turned out to be a fair player. In Bruce I trust.

Oh he could turn out good, but whether he is good straight away is even less certain.

It worries me a little that you had to go back 43 years to find a successful buy from the lower leagues.

As said in another thread, Eric Dier is available for around the same price as Maguire.. so £4-5m on a L1 defender who is totally unproven at a higher level, or £4-5m on a kid who has played at a top club in Portugal and capped many times by England at U21 level.

I know who id go for..

<laugh>. But I have said before we should take a punt on a young kid and Sam Winnall at Scunny scored 23 in 49 games. I'd like us to go for a Le Fondre type super sub, out and out goal poacher.
I'm working with a Scunny season pass holder, he says he's a poacher, come alive in the box and is very pacy. He shouldnt cost too much, in the last year of his contract.

Find it a little strange that the Hdm, RH , or the Sheffield star do not carry any news regards our latest bid being rejected.

If you read their forum they seem to think that they are using the sale of Maguire to purchase other players they need. A strategy of holding off for a while might make them reevaluate their 4 mill position.

We should play hard ball. Aren't wolves the only other club interested and there's no way they are going to stump up more than 2 million.

All this for a benchwarmer too.

James Shield-as poor a reporter as we have ever had. Voted worst reporter the Blades have had a while ago, so he has carried on the same as he was here.

Time to move on we're not at the level where we can afford to pay 4m for a future player

He is hardly going to say 'We have a very ****ed off player here that we have shafted to prove some pathetic point about how big we are as a club' is he.
