They've met the release clause with an offer but will they agree his wages? He'll be a squad player there as he's no Suarez...
Oh well, it would have been nice to keep Remy but personally my gut feeling was he would not be in our squad by the end of the summer window. Good luck to him, I trust our board to find another striker.
Why do people go on about the release clause. It's not worth the paper it's written on. It's doubly ironic that it's being talked about on a Liverpool related thread when they didn't honour the Suarez one. Nobody would ever challenge the clause because in football terms you don't have the time to go through a drawn out legal challenge for something that you need right now.
Why do you say that mate? Because he didnt want to come back to us? if that is the reasoning then please ensure you dish it out across all of those who left us when needed and looked for other squads. i wont name them all but its a long list and includes a lot of this boards "favorites" remy is undoubtedly the best striker we've had on our books and in our shirt for many years if the truth be told. Can anyone name another better?
I'm not sure I want him to stay anymore. There is no question of his ability, but he wants to move on to better things (allegedly) which is understandable, so will only stay if he can't get a move elsewhere. Hardly makes for a good dressing room. I'd hope that the guy from Ajax was coming in regardless, so I'd expect (hopefully) for another striker to come in if Remy moves on.
He wouldnt have come otherwise. Id say the person at the club who posted a week ago that hed be staying is a moron and of course a liar.
If he doesn't want to be here, then it's best he goes, no matter how good he is. We've had enough wasters who didn't care about the club. I agree that he's the best striker we've had for a long time though.
