Jack Collison is training with us and may be offered contract if he impresses... http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-offer-chance-former-west-7449887?
I can see a lot of players coming in that haven't got a club come in. According to harry we only have 14 players on the books.
The right sort. Seems injury prone, no doubt, but a good age and on low wages is worth a punt I believe. Definitely a positive behind the scenes too.
He always seemed OK to me. Perhaps a 1 or 2 year contract if he's fit and healthy at the moment. If he's on a free it's not the worst gamble we could take.
Trouble is we have too many players like that, Rio, Faurlin, Remy, Austin Hoilett Philips etc all have injury concerns. We don't need another problem. I'd be fine if half the squad didn't have a dodgy injury history though.
Not helped by us having the highest hamstring injury rate per person in the universe. I don't know why, but I still think he could be worth a go. I think he suffered at West Ham with regular changes in management so I wouldn't quite label him a croc yet. The alternative would probably be someone of a lesser ability who is reliable and that could backfire too.
I never thought about our dodgy training and pitch. Its a definite no if he's had hamstrings go because they'd be guaranteed to go again.
The positives are he's still moderately young at 25 years old, and he has good technical ability. The negatives are that he's stupidly injury prone, and hasn't played a full season of football for 3 years. He'll be essentially competing with Gary O'Neill for a squad place
Perhaps as a squad player on a pay-per-play deal would be worthwhile, he certainly is good enough if fit...
Yep totally agree. If he can impress he's got to be worth a squad place. Right age but injuries are a worry. Give him a chance to prove himself. If he doesnt then we havent lost anything.
