Shame it's with Man City though. Bet it's worth a canny bit of money aswell.. English Premier League champions Manchester City have landed a five-year sponsorship deal with Japanese automaker Nissan, both parties said on Thursday. Financial terms of the deal, announced at Nissan's global headquarters in Yokohama, were not disclosed, but City called it the "most significant of its type in the Premier League". https://uk.news.yahoo.com/man-city-land-five-sponsor-deal-nissan-100709925.html#gg52VLh
Seems like a massive, massive missed opportunity. Obviously CL coverage has swayed it, but we should have had Nissan on the shirts for 10 years, at least.
Was there not ill feeling generated by the objections they raised about the siting of the new stadium near the a19.
The club have approached them a number of times and they have always turned us down...So much for them supporting the community that has helped make them rich eh!
Doesn't nike also have its uk hq at doxford park? Imagine if theyd both backed up with massive sponsorship deals
I really think this stinks...They could have really made a difference with us which would have been great publicity for them. At Man City their sponsorship will be like a drop in the ocean..
I agree RAW. Yes, they have been wonderful for the city and region, but it's a 2 way street with grants and backing they've had. Bit of a slap to see, especially the words 'biggest of it's kind in the Premier League'. That said, it is NOT a shirt sponsorship, so it could be a few quid sponsoring the players bogs for all we know right now.
This really is a poke in our eye. Even if they did not want us they could have been helpful and given us NISSANUK sponsorship.
So i take it you either have a Toyota or Honda then, cos there ain't much more of choice for you. being where you are.
Well you said 'better than nissan', so i narrowed it down to those 2, but forgot about Ford..As surely you can't mean any Chev or Mazda. Also i'm guessing that you have not paid the extortinate price of an inport, cos that would be madness.
