well on the BBC article it's said that "The seven-figure agreement represents a 60% increase on their previous deal with Cash Converters."
But still only 2% of their total revenue next season apparently. Is it actually worth having a sponsor?
Why ? It says they are sponsoring Hull City in the premier league, who are also competing in the Europa and FA cups, or something like that. edit: it says The 12BET logo will feature on the front of the clubâs shirt as they compete in the Barclays Premier League, the most compelling, competitive and watched league in the world. The sponsorship also comes as the club embark on their first ever campaign in a European competition; âThe Tigersâ qualified for this seasonâs UEFA Europa League after their historic exploits in the FA Cup last season. Only says will be on the front of the shirt in the league there
If they were only sponsoring us in the Premier League, they wouldn't mention the other competitions, it looks like we only have one sponsor.

Interesting sponsor - and looks a big bookmakers company in Asia. As for the "global brand" comment - depends how you define global brand, as to whether this sponsor is one or not. But certainly an improvement on some previous sponsors we've had
Looks to me like we tried to get another sponsor for the cups but didn't get one. Someone from the club did say publicly that that was the aim not long ago. Image wise its a much better sponsor, but if its still only 60% better than Cash Converters after that season then it's a truly ****e deal. CC was only a million over 3 years, so say £350k a year for the sake of mental maths. 60% better than that figure is £560k a year. Bearing in mind that was the result of some generous rounding, that 60% can't be right, surely? Even our lot must be able to do better than that?
Seriously, which companies that aren't already sponsoring a sports team do you GENUINELY think want to commit to 2 years sponsoring Hull City? I genuinely don't think people realise just how much money is worth these days, or how unattractive Hull is to the rest of the UK. a 60% increase is being sneered at? Really? You think we were going to jump right into the 10s of millions bracket because 1 season in the PL and 1 decent cup run? Even if we won the FA Cup, it wouldn't have make a huge difference. We need to be top 6, consistently, for a few years, before we'll get the type of money that some seem to think the club should be capable of assuming nothing else changes around the club. Welcome to the harsh reality of who we are. Maybe now you can start to see the need for some radical thinking? No?
I agree of course that success brings in money better than anything else. I've been telling you that for months! But that figure if true must be the worst in the PL. By a team which was just seen by half a billion people in the cup final. We should have an advantage right now over similar sized clubs. The demographics of Hull have nothing to do with it. Sponsorship is all about exposure of the brand. We should be an excellent proposition for sponsors. And it's our job to convince them, I don't expect any to be knocking our door down. Hopefully Obi is right and it's 60% increase overall on a short deal.
Glass half empty. You are the kind of 'fan' that this club can do without. I think you might have a history of irritating people on this board because the majority of what you write is pessimistic, biased drivel.
**** off you silly bastard. I was putting money into buckets at BP before you were a delinquent sperm. See you in Europe yeah?
Does radical thinking include the fact that thinking renaming us would bring in extra money was nonsense? Nothing to do with Hull being unattractive. Manchester United don't get money thrown at them because Manchester is attractive. They get it because they are well known. After a cup final you would have thought that with a CV like Allam's we could have done a better deal.
On a postive note, Hull City AFC can gain asian sponsorship without the need to change the name. I doubt that has dawned on Ehab and his mad father.
