Pretty sure Kalas has already gone out to somewhere in Germany, or was going to be.

Kalas has already gone to Monchengladbach for the season. I reckon if we sign another CB, which is quite likely, then Zouma will be available. I thought Omeruo was linked with you too? He looks good, although i've only seen a little of him.

Why would we move on? They might want £3.5m but they won't get it and the lad has expressed huge interest in playing for us. We can't be that far apart either as talks wouldn't be ongoing, same with Robertson too!

Isn't that a contradiction in terms.

This is the main page for the details

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/it.htm#1a

Over £100k per year means your personal allowance is gradually reduced but that's hardly going to worry a footballer. What is more of a worry is the top rate of tax (45%) and the marginal rate of NI for employees (2%) and the marginal rate of NI for employers (13.8%) compared to the effective rate of tax in other major footballing countries.

That means the employee gets 45% of the cost to the employer.

Been thinking about the type of midfielder we might be interested, Leroy Fer or Lewis Holtby, both have played a 'bit of everywhere'.

Agree on both points. Dudgeon will need time and the cups give him a chance here but i also expect to see him go out on loan at some point as does Joe himself. It worked for Fryatt as we know.

Sad but so very true. His bottle went after that.

What about Oriol Romeu? Played at Valencia last year and could add a bit of steel to our midfield. Whether he'd want to come is a different story.

Fraizer Campbell and Gylfi Sigurdsson look set for Palace apparently.

Sigurdsson is a really good signing IMO.

Sigurdsson is a top quality addition, I'd have loved us to have signed him.

It looks as if the Maguire is nearly a done deal according to HDM, if it goes through I wonder of the Dawson one will now not happen?

Didn't Brucey say he'd like 2 more centre halves?

Not such a big deal to get another centre half in if we get in a left back, as Figueroa can play there and probably looked better at centre half than he did at left back. He certainly had a good world cup in the middle.

    We'd have

    Chester - Excellent
    Davies - Excellent
    McShane - Very good
    Figueroa - Very Capable
Maguire - question mark, might be superb, might not be ready yet
    Bruce - Dire

Plenty in the locker, though if we could offload McShane and Bruce we could look at getting in another, who could be an improvement, someone like Dawson. I'm happy either way, we're not short of supply.

That's bollocks - Bruce Dyer is retired and he wasn't a centre back anyway.

    Pah.

Are you sure Hat? I'm not sure Bruce is dire, equally mcshane isn't very good in fact I'd say Bruce is as good if not better

Brucie on Tom Ince signing: "I bought him a cup of coffee and a cheese toastie and hoped it would be enough. Thankfully, it was."

Bruce is far better. If he wasn't the managers son he wouldn't get anywhere near the amount of **** he gets. He was excellent at breaking up play sitting in front of the defence in the championship. If we hadn't brought quality into the midfield he'd still get starts there now.

I still don't know why there's such a love in for McShane. Neither are dire, but at CB I'd probably pick Bruce ahead of McShane... Bruce doesn't let a long ball bounce every single time.
