16/07/2014 By David McIntyre QPR midfielder Samba Diakite is close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad on a season-long loan. The Mali international, 25, has made only 11 league starts for Rangers since completing a move from Nancy two years ago, having impressed during an initial loan spell. He ended last season on loan at Watford and was sent off on his full debut for the Hornets, which turned out to be his only start for them. Rangers manager Harry Redknapp hoped to offload him last summer and a number of French clubs â including Nancy â were offered the chance to sign him. This time around clubs in the Middle East have been made aware of his availability and Diakite, who has two years left on his QPR contract, looks set for a move to Jeddah. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/diakite-on-the-verge-of-qpr-exit8472 Where did it all go so wrong with him looked great while on loan...
When he first arrived, there was great hope; his winner against Arsenal lifted our expectations. And then he seemed to drift between poor judgement on the pitch, and personal problems away from W12. I wonder whether Steve Black might take him under his wing?
Tells you all you need to know that no club wants his permenantly Real shame, but who'd want a player who can't play 90 minutes without picking up a yellow or a straight red? Liability
