    QPR Set to Grab Omeruo

    16 Jul 2014

    Kenneth Omeruo

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) look poised to sign Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo on a loan-deal.
According to the African Football site, Chelsea wants to loan the player out to a Premiership club and Hull City were looking the likeliest destination for the Nigeria international.

But now it looks like QPR could pounce for the 20-year old in a loan-deal where he would be guaranteed first-team football.
Omeruo is well travelled having spent two years in Holland with ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie and six months playing with Middlesbrough in the Championship last season.

He has been capped 17 times for Nigeria and did play well in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
In another development, Nigeria Under-20 international winger Musa Yahaya is reportedly at pre-season with English Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur.

Since January this year the player had been linked with a move to Spurs and now according to the player’s agent, the signing has finally happened.

Yahaya was a starring member of Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup winning squad.
“Musa has been released by the Flying Eagles to join Spurs for pre-season training on Monday,” the player’s agent Babawo Mohammed told AfricanFootball site.

“He’s an exciting prospect and naturally very excited with this opportunity, which will most certainly enhance his rising profile.
The agreement with Spurs is only a pre-contract, because Yahaya won’t be 17 until December (born 16-12-1997). It is believed that he will train with Spurs’ U-23 team or the academy and then be loaned to La Liga club Celta Vigo in September last year.

We promise him 1st team football at the expense of who? We develop their player so that Onuoha never fully develops into the player we think he can?

I would prefer us to build a squad with our own players. This one-season-at-a-time mentality will never develop the squad.

Agree, but nothing wrong with a few loanees.

These days loanees are far more prevalent; a great example was/is Lukaku at Everton.

This guy is the bollocks I assure you.

Good to have options in the squad and with Onuoha would be a quick, potentially excellent partnership.

Please don't sign that **** Rio!

Loans should only be done if they are clearly better than the current players.

This guy is a CB. We have Ned, Rio, Hill, Dunne.
Surely this means either were playing 3 at the back, rio isnt happening or dunne is leaving.

Its not a good group of CBs overall. Its ironic, the only young players we develop are those of other teams, its pretty clear theres no long term plan.

So sick of it being reported "QPR are about to Swoop/Grab/Poach/Seize/Steal etc" any number of players, when the truth is, for the last few years, we ultimately seem to be able to persuade only the remaining unemployable dregs still on the shelf in the last day or two of the transfer window.

so we are linked to one player as a loan and you state almost as fact that there is no long term plan, yet we have been linked with some good younger talent and you dont say good planning. lets just wait till everthing is in and we know the squad

If he us versatile, snap him up. Loan or no loan he will provide decent rotation for our lads.

Oh lets not windup Flyer, he is negative, will only ever be negative, any prospect will have negatives highlighted, so let him be.

As DT has rightfully said lets get behind the club and players we bring in, and enjoy being in the Premiership !!

I think it's inevitable that we will have to have some loans - we can't just go out and spend cash on the 10 players it has been estimated that we need. A player with the ability to play in several positions doesn't seem too absurd, and with 3 ageing centre backs in the squad (subject to RF signing) the cover there would seem a sensible move.

Guaranteed first team place. I think not, unless he's Bobby Moore, Franz Beckenbauer and Paolo Maldini rolled into one. Still, we can promise that and get Barton to kick him in training if he turns out crap.
