Sharp in midfield just tells us he's not seriously under consideration. I thought Targett looked very impressive!

I agree, I know it was crap opposition, but you can either pick passes like that or you can't.

 

I really think Wanyama is going to thrive if Koeman is going to use that 4-3-3 set-up, which I'd suggest he is.

 

Belter from my man Stevie Davis. Couldn't get the whole picture from the highlights, but Tadic looks to have a very decent set piece delivery. Mayuka's finishing......well, not the best shall we say.

Sam McQueen seems like a nice lad. Comes over really well on interview, and mature beyond his years - only 19 in February.

 

Interesting stuff. Think JWP and Reed can benefit playing in the centre in this formation, Targett showing better vision than Shaw going forward and McQueen looked lively but as previously mentioned needs a shave! A lot of woeful finishing from players who won't get near the 1st team.

The 3 in the centre is going to be interesting. In a CL quality team I think Morgan would be nailed on as the pivot but we have Vic as well - if Morgan is still here I can see them both playing in more physical games and just Morgan in others. Gaston can't really play wide so may play there when he comes on which would play to his strength of carrying the ball.

Ron getting away from the Souse-hampton already - Erwin already has the 'th' down as shown in his interview. Ron is now saying it more like Zuid-hampton (zuid=south in Dutch) which is much closer than souse.
