Apologies if this was picked up elsewhere -

Young defender George Swan is back at Leeds United on trial following his release from Manchester City at the end of last season.

Swan is said to have been impressing upon his return to Thorp Arch and he played 60 minutes as United's Development Squad got their pre-season underway with a 0-0 draw against Grimsby Borough on Sunday.

The 19-year-old, who originally joined the West Yorkshire club aged nine, moved to City in 2009 after feeling that his career was stalling due to a decline in coaching.

Alongside fellow academy prospect Louis Hutton, Swan decided to make the switch to Eastlands and Leeds received a reported £800,000 in compensation for the pair.

I was about to say that Essex, I think regarding his son leaving, that was more down to a pushy father than the kid himself, but don't quote me on that.

Don't be pretending to be all innocent. That "I am just a dumb paddy" routine won't wash, we know you are a hooligan genius.

Peter Swan was gutted when he overheard a conversation between his son and wife. George said that life at TA was crap, training was crap, coaches were crap, no ideas, no honesty, no plans, no direction and he wanted to leave and join Man City where his old coaches were now running things. Peter Swan was gobsmacked but even though he had been a player at Leeds he accepted that things had gone backwards in a big way, so agreed to take his boy away from Leeds.

I read this last week and quoted the link on another piece on here. If he turns out to be good, expect to see a top player, just like Clayton would have been if we hadn't have flogged him. Check out youtube on some of our kids who went to City and be ****ed off, and thats why MC and Benny want to sort out our kids again.

Peter Swan Bronco Lane and Peter Kay were all convicted of match fixing for Sheffield Wed of the three Kay was without vdoubt the best player having a very bright future in the game Swan was no slouch either and had played for England Bronco had just been bought from Bradford City and was real dopey although a very good propect as a striker .He caused mayhem when he called into Bradford to tell the lads how much he was on at Wed
George Swans dad played for Leeds as a striker and a defender lacked pace but was a real honest player.I believe Bates got 400k compensation from City for him
