Plus he's got an eye on TV punditry so has half an eye on setting himself up for his subsequent career. The man has nothing to prove - this is just a nice additional payday. I bet he couldn't give a damn if we get relegated.
Love this. Yup all Harry's fault. Of course Harry wants rid of really good players that really want to play at the club, on wages that we easily can afford. In order for QPR to perform really badly ??? Really ? Are you sure, there isnt a little of the player or their agent wanting for a better deal, or a better deal at another club ? Appearing in front of cameras all happy, then trouble-making behind the scenes ??? That scenario, you paint, just doesnt make any sense at all.
What?! That doesnât make sense. Are you saying that these are really good players but they are wages that the club cant afford? -Of course Iâm not suggesting that he wants us to âperform badlyâ. What I suggested was that he will just want to turf these players out of the club- not worry about getting value for them, as in what they are worth or what it costs to replace them- he will not care about the financial implications for the owners and by extension the club- as I said I believe his comments contribute to making Beard and TFâs job more difficult. Can see what he wants tyo do- he wants to ostracise players to force Beard and TF into getting rid of them and not standing firm for their real value. Also hate all this â 'they want to go elsewhere' witch hunt. Feeds in to the idiocy that saw other fans wanting 48 hour time frames being put on Calukers transfer. Some fans assume that every player is a die hard QPR fan and doesnât want to be anywhere else As I said if Austin had the prospect of a better deal like Liverpool after them then they would also want to go. Thatâs no different to Adelâs situation with Milan. Only difference is Adel having been sent out on loan and succeeding at one of the biggest clubs in Europe now also has an affiliation with that club as well. If we cant reach a deal then it doesnât go anywhere- Suarez wanted to leave Liverpool for Barcelona but they made sure they got £75m- McCormack wanted to leave Leeds but they still made sure they got £11m We need to hold out for what Adel and Granero are worth if we are going to let them leave. If the buyers cant meet the selling price in a time framne that allows us to make alternative plans then they donât go anywhere Yes we need players that will eb committed to the cause but we cant ignore the fincial side and turf players out for no money all the time as that is unsustainable Harry leaves the coaching to his back room staff- he now delegates his man management to Black- other than picking a team (which we all do just as well if not better on pre-match threads) Iâm not sure what else he has to do to justify his wages. If we cant sell Granero and Adel then let Black do his stuff and get them motivated.
Didn't take long I hate that clown Redknapp But as said have to get behind the team ... I say again he is in it for himself and can't understand the mugs who eat his **** ... One interview from him and I am fuming I will try to ignore it or else I am going down the same road as flyer He gives us fans no confidence at all and TF nice bloke but get a grip
Or part of a back 3 in a 3-5-2 meaning we can play Remy and Austin together? Ned-Rio-Chaulker with Simpson and Yun playing as wing backs.
Good in theory but we have looked shocking with 3 at the back, you also need at least 2 of them to be fast as they have to cover the holes left by the WBs, we are likely to have hill, Ned, Dawson, Rio, Dunne and it simply won't work. Even if we get caulker, one injury to him or Ned and we are stuffed, plus do you really think the manager will play Yun?
or perhaps Nigel Reo-Coker who is currently doing a great job controlling the midfield at Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS - he reads the game really well and only just turned 30! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigel_Reo-Coker Back in his prime:- please log in to view this image Tottenham and Arsenal are ready to renew North London hostilities over the signing of West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ole-club-says-QPR-manager-Harry-Redknapp.html Rio Ferdinand deal will lift whole club, says QPR manager Harry Redknapp Exclusive: Manager confident former England defender's arrival will have positive impact and persuade Steven Caulker to sign from Cardiff Rio Ferdinand deal will lift whole club, says QPR manager Harry Redknapp BST 15 Jul 2014 Comments2 Comments Harry Redknapp is finalising a deal for Rio Ferdinand and believes the former England captain’s arrival could prove pivotal in his £8 million bid for Steven Caulker. Ferdinand has returned from Brazil to hold talks with Redknapp, the Queens Park Rangers manager, and is expected to sign a 12-month deal in the next 24 hours. The 35-year-old has accepted a substantial pay cut from his last contract at Manchester United but verbally agreed to sign for May’s Championship play-off winners before flying out to the World Cup finals to work for the BBC. Redknapp met Ferdinand in London on Tuesday night and is confident of finally completing a deal, insisting the centre-half can have a similar influence to Teddy Sheringham at Portsmouth. Sheringham was signed by Redknapp in 2003 after Portsmouth’s promotion back to the top flight and Ferdinand has been backed to produce a similar impact on and off the field. “Rio has always been a class act and signing a player like him will give the whole place a lift,” said Redknapp. “He’s never been a greedy lad and this deal is not about money. He’s still desperate to play in the Premier League and it will help that we’ve worked together in the past. I’ve always loved him as a player ever since he first started training with us at West Ham as a 14-year-old. “Getting a deal like this done reminds me of when I signed Teddy Sheringham at Portsmouth. The standards were lifted and he was somebody everyone looked up to. “The coaches and the younger players all learned off him and he was a massive influence. I can see Rio at QPR doing what Teddy did for me at Portsmouth.” Ferdinand was given his senior debut by Redknapp at the age of 16 and returns to the capital for the first time since 2000, when he left West Ham for Leeds United for a record transfer fee of £18 million. Redknapp is also convinced Ferdinand’s arrival at Loftus Road will enhance his chances of signing Caulker, the Cardiff City captain. QPR and Crystal Palace have both agreed to trigger the £8 million buyout clause in Caulker’s contract, with the 22-year-old yet to make up his mind on his next move. Arsenal and Southampton are continuing to monitor the situation but Redknapp is battling to strike a deal before the weekend. “Hopefully we can move things along with Caulker and we can have talks later this week,” he said. “The prospect of playing with Rio Ferdinand in the centre of defence is something that will appeal to the lad. He’s a young player and he can only improve playing alongside somebody as experienced as Rio. “If you look at Gary Cahill he has improved massively playing with John Terry and I believe Rio can do the same for Caulker. That’s a deal we would really like to get done.” QPR are also weighing up a bid for Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer as Redknapp attempts to strengthen his squad ahead of the Premier League season. Fer impressed at the World Cup for the Netherlands but is preparing to play in the Championship following Norwich’s relegation. Any move is likely to be complicated, however, as Norwich are expected to demand a significant fee for a player they signed for £5million from FC Twente last July. •
Well that's fairly clear cut isn't it, Harry's gone for option 1. What an absolutely disgraceful decision if true. This would be worse than when we shipped out our 10/11 promotion winning squad for SWP/Anton and co. Let's replace simpson for Lescott, let's replace Barton with Lampard, and let's replace Austin with Defoe. If this actually happens, then we genuinely are 'everything wrong with football', and opposition fans are absolutely justified in castigating us. [OR...and I have my fingers tightly crossed; perhaps Harry has no intention of playing Ferdinand at Onouha's expense. He's just saying what he feels would be the right things to attract players to us. Let caulker believe he'll be partnered with Rio until he signs on the dotted line]
