Good to hear something from the horse's mouth.

It does seem that the transfer market is gathering momentum now that the WC is over so hopefully we are going to have a happy Thursday or two.

Delighted that Granero and Adel want to leave. Adios !!

Ferdinand - Still not sure ??? Only time will tell if he is an "AJ" or a "Dunne" signing.

Think Granero and Adel leaving is probably best for both parties.

Ferdinand I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the fact we've already got 2 OAP's at CB add in Ned's injury history & could leave ourselves really exposed.

Rio Ferdinand is the polar opposite of what we need on and off the pitch. No good in a half decent team and more worried about selling hats nowadays.

He's incredibly fortunate Ledley King had chronic injuries without which he'd have been shown up as hugely inferior.

So it starts Harold... Poor old QPR only got 10 players before the season because of loans in and loans out ... who is responsible of that?

Good to see Adel and Granero off ... simply too good for Harold's plans

It's like a broken retro record at times ... Lampard, Rio and hard work what have those got to do with modern football? Smoking? Harold must be on crack IMO

Ok,

My main gripe is the Adel bit. Having looked at the back to pre season training video yesterday and seeing Adel strutting around and saying "I'm still the same" or whatever he said.

Now he is back we now get the confirmation of what we already knew about that he still wants out. That's it for me with Adel, I really do hope we can shift him now. I really don't want a player with that attitude at our club. Nobody is bigger or better than QPR.

He is going to p**s a few of our players off with that chip on his shoulder and and not fit into the band of brothers thing that's going on at the moment.

Bye bye Adel, thanks for what you gave us and good luck in the furure!

The Rio thing I'm really not sure about. I admire his professionalism and if the deal is just for a year and he can stay fit then it may work out well in our quest to stay up.

What a fit Rio would bring to the table is the knowledge of the other teams players and playing styles.

As for Granero, as Catherine Tate would say, "Does my face look bovvered"

On your own "...cross-dressers..." thread yesterday you wrote the following...

What a difference a day makes,
Oh, twenty-four little hours.... tra-la-la-la-le...

He was bigging up Dawson too. Another injury prone OAP CB.

Translation of this is that Harry wants them to leave.

Granero’s attitude on the trainging video shows he’s kept himself in great nick over the summer and looked to me like he was trying to impress. He didn’t need to push himself like that.

Also remember an Onouha interview around the timeof the lay offs saying Granero was texting him saying how much he wanted us to win because he wanted to play in the Premier League next season year- Clear contradiction of the media whore that is Redknapp

Now if Sociedad can come up with the cash then he will of course happily go back to Spain but they wont come up with the cash- so I’m a 100% certain he is happy to stay and fight for his place as he is confident enough in his own ability to break into the team. However I am also certain he knows that Arry wont give him a fair crack and wants him out and that’s it.

As for Adel- Arry definitetly doesn’t want him at the club- Adel does of course want to go to AC Milan. One of the biggest and most prestigious clubs in Europe- He went there and was one of there top performers last year. Problem is they wont pay the money he is worth.

Austin and Clint Hill would want to leave if Liverpool were after them. This is the same as Adel wanting to go to AC Milan if they are after him after he did so well there.

Redknapp unnecessarily inviting disrespect and scorn from the reactionary thick as two planks masses amongst the Rangers fans on a player who has done so much for this club and a player who is clearly a good pro. All done by Harry who like much of the idiots on here have no concept or care about the finances. He would give them away for nothing if it was up to him. He has showed at Pompey just how ignorant he is and how little he cares about finances and is doing it again with us.
Milan and Sociedad know this and this statement makes it even more clear- he is doing the club a massive disservice and making Beard and TF’s job negotiating money for these players near impossible.

Overall its more short term thinking from a mug who wasted millions on loan and short term signings on massive wages like BAE, Krancjar, Hughes, Jenas et al while leaving us with no assets

Where does Rio fit?

Onouha has to be #1/#2 centre back. He's one of football's true gentleman; intelligent & likeable. He's been with us 2.5 years now, and has earned his hoops. To bump him down to 3rd choice in this window would be tantamount to club suicide. We'd have sold our soul.

So is the plan to bring in a 36 year old to partner him? I don't know how anyone can be happy with that. Did we look at our back 2 last season, and think "you know what, we need less pace and another aging player".
I find it very hard to believe Rio will have taken a wage cut and moved from Utd to QPR if he hasn't been promised 1st team football.
Unless of course it's a special player/coach role, which would be a good idea.

If he really is being brought in as backup, then why? We have 2 very experienced backup CBs in Clint & Dunne. A third is grotesquely unnecessary, and harks back to the Cesar signing.

Forget the name for a moment, and imagine an agent was touting a faceless nameless player to you:

Player x
-36yrd old
-plagued by injury
-declining performances (according to his own fans)
-stepping down from a massive club to join a small one
-lots of PL caps
-lots of England caps

You'd run a mile! You'd think your club was good enough to afford something better on their return to the premier league. You'd ask if he's got a "player Y" who a bit younger, a bit less injury prone.

Yet as soon as the fact it's "Rio Ferdinand" is revealed, it seems like a lot of fans are star struck. "Oo Rio...I used to watch him play really well for England!! How exciting!".
The raw facts suddenly go out of a window, and it's all about how much of a "triffic' fella" he is, and "maybe he can 'do a job'..."

Grifter- saying someone should play because "he's one of footballs true gentleman, intelligent and likeable" is ridiculous, playing our nicest players won't keep us up, playing our best will! It's not about selling our soul, it's about common sense and common sense says a team that just managed to get promotion will need changes to stay up. If Ned is performing best in training and on the pitch then he should keep his place if not then whoever is should be playing, it's harsh but it's the reality of football!

Good thing he's our best centre-half by a country mile then.

Fair enough supergod. I'm saying Onouha's a great player, and a really nice guy. He should be a fans favourite- why would anyone want to replace him? That's the sort of move that would've been made under Hughes.
We need a consistent CB pairing to do well this season, so these are the only 3 options if Ferdinand comes in.

1) He replaces Onouha
2) He replaces a potential Williams/Caulker style player.
3) He's backup, alongside Dunne and Hill. (unlikely he'd ever agree to it, and also unnecessary).

None of those possibilities look good to me

Don't forget, he was playing alongside vidic, now hes got to play alongside the likes of hill or Dunne.

His performance will drop a lot further. He's a year older, slower and has a much much worse partner.
