You think its really like that? **** i dont know what world you all live in. When im the minority there is nothing i can do. Whats the point of snitching to a steward so i have to go the next game in fear i might see the person who i snitched on a get a glass in my face. I personally think alot of people dont even notice it.

 

If he wants to talk about Lallana can't this thread be merged with the Lallana thread and all this 'insult the Saints fans' crap edited out. All clubs from all towns and cities have racists as fans. There are racists the country over. There are no more in Southampton than there are in London or B'ham per person. Racists are not just white. Racists can be any colour, nationality, religion etc.

As for the comment about multiculturism I agree that it would be beneficial however we don't have multiculturism in the UK. We have self imposed segregation where areas become a particular ethnic minority over time through no fault of the system and that IS a problem.

You're not in the minority though. Every single person (bar the person throwing the abuse) would support you if you reported it, and would likely report it themselves first. Did you last go to a match in the 70s or something?

 

There are many more black and Asian fans now. I am not saying you are wrong to be a bit defensive being a minority. It's natural. I'm half German and I got enough abuse growing up - and that doesn't compare. However, most people are not hiding their heads in the sand. We are highly attuned to racism. It makes our skin crawl. We've had many discussions here about Guly's treatment. My point is that the racism is subtle and wearing, not overt. If I heard those words, I would report them - and you should too. People would surprise you with their support.

Sorry to hear this still happens, personally I haven't heard this kind of stuff for a few years at least (haven't been to that many games though), but I believe you - we have a lot of stupid fans, but so do loads of other clubs, including in London, like Chelsea. It's true, Southampton is pretty white, and it would get better if more black people went to games. I hope you keep going and it gets better.

When it comes to Lallana it's all been said before. He said he wanted to retire here, he kissed the badge every time he scored - that's the kind of stuff someone who loves the club does and doesn't want to leave. Then he did, it was all bullshit. Shaw said nothing like that and doesn't get any hate from us, and I think people will welcome him back, and will welcome Schneiderlin if he leaves. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but not everyone agrees with you. If it's not racist or sexist (or other -ists) you can say what you like. Fashion in London is always ahead of Southampton

I'm new on this forum but most people on here seem decent to me. Because you were aggressive and insulted us, you got a bad response, and people got defensive and attacked you. If you posted your explanation I'm replying to first, I think you'd get a better response.

I kinda like Side Show Bob. He's not a defender though.

 

I always found the hype around Lallana cringe-worthy personally. He had very little end product for a player that was supposedly our best player. The amount of times he does a Cryuff turn when players are waiting in the box for a cross is mind numbing. He has a tendency to release passes too late as he's trying to be fancy and it puts the player receiving the pass under unnecessary pressure. Lambert was apparently past it according to many Saints fans, he was involved in the most goals for us. Rodriguez had more legs and worked harder than Lallana. Rodriguez and Lambert had more end product but Lallana got all the praise this season due to being overly fancy, taking some set pieces and being the captain. The whole team was great. Our bad spell was due to injuries. There was no need to single of Lallana for favourable treatment.

I think it's come back to haunt many that they gave Lallana undeserved favourable treatment. Some were naive enough to think Lallana wouldn't look to join another club and that he could do nothing wrong. I was more than happy to sell Lallana and Shaw for that much. I don't agree with selling Lambert for peanuts. I'm fine with selling him to his childhood club but at least get a decent fee for it.

I am exactly the same as all Saints fans. I think you can find Saints fans on a shelf in a supermarket. You see one, you see them all..... that is almost racist

I can only think the "worst Brazilian" was not done properly and therefore becomes a "non-Brazilian" and therefore can't be the worst Brazilian.

 

I think you need to realise that with any club there will be a small percentage of fans that are racist. It's the same anywhere in life. If you went to a concert then a certain percentage of them are not going to like black people. You're just going to have to accept it. You can't class all Saints fans as racist because of a small minority of idiots.

 

Let that be an end to it.
