TNLS - Is there anything at all you like about Southampton?

I don't get it. Arsenal and Spurs on your doorstep. Explain yourself.

In which case, welcome to the Saints fan forum - you'll fit in perfectly with the rest of us rude, negative and racist people!

I don't like some football fans either. But I do like most football fans. They're just ordinary people. I won't sing those songs about kicking people's heads in and ambulances and all that - but I do like all the banter. You have to take the rough with the smooth.

Does TNLS like going to games at all?

I love going to games but i have to deal with the looks i receive (i look out of place) and the occasional remark about a coloured player in which awkwardness ensues as i turn around ( WHAT I MEAN BY SOUTHAMPTON FANS ARE SLIGHTLY RACIST)

Not too much time wasted on this one, pal.

My post in response to your original post was 11 minutes after, and I didn't see it as soon as it was posted.

Found most of that crap in the first four pages of your post history.

And yes, I do have too much time on my hands - I'm a student and I don't return to study until end of September/start of October.

I think TNLS is trying to say he is black. Also I don't think that word when used in that context is racist anyway, as it should be about the intent, not the word itself. Maybe let's drop the accusations of racism (on both sides) as I've never seen any evidence of it on this board as long as I've been here, aside from a couple of stupid remarks made about Germans by a certain couple of people.

I'm going to stop defending him now as it's making me feel dirty.

I find fans to be good at self-policing. Anyone says something racist and people shout them down. I do agree there is a little current of racism as foreign players and black players seem to be "useless" a lot quicker than little white English guys who run around like headless chickens.

    I miss Guly already. :(

On the subject of racism/the n word: Why is it seen as OK for a black person to use that horrible word, but not a white person?! Nobody should use that word, full stop.

You do realise the most used phrase for Guly was 'Black ****' which was frequently used and no one ever raised an eye lid. You say that on a london bus and you're not walking off. I personally feel that it's more the city of Southampton. Barely any black people there and im a firm believer the only way to get rid of racisim is multi cultural communities which you will only see in huge urban areas such a London Bham and Manchester

Never heard that once. Heard a lot of moaning about Guly that I felt was probably based on race, but never heard explicit racial name calling.

I think (but not sure) that he is suggesting he is black so he is allowed to say it while others being not black are not allowed to say it. I am white, my wife is black. Neither of us say that word. Why should any section of society to be allowed to say something whilst others not? That is called discrimination. So neither black or white should say that word or both should be allowed to. I know I would prefer the former.

As for fashion sense, I agree. Red and white clash a bit. I prefer green however the club ties me to those colours.

Now I've said that **** off and support Pochnam Tottspurs you prick while I continue to burn effigies of a twat with a crap beard who proclaimed he wanted to stay at Saints forever, kissed the badge non stop then proclaimed he wanted to lay for another team through the last 4 months of the season only 5 months after saying he wanted to stay here forever.
