My take on Pozuelo last season is that he was a hard worker, good crosser but poor decision maker who gave the ball away too often. Haven't seen enough of Donnelly to have an opinion but shouldn't people be comparing like with like. Pozuelo plays a midfield role whilst Donnelly is a front man.

I agree with what you say. But we have to find a championship side that will take him. After the Coventry debacle some may be a little wary of him.

I wouldn't disagree with any of that, i think the parallel being drawn is perhaps more about the age difference and the fact that one of them is persona non grata and the other one is firmly in the plans while perhaps not covering himself in glory by leaving Coventry after 1 day .

I thought Donnely was a major gamble anyway, if he was all that no way in the world would we be out bidding Liverpool and Everton for his services. It looks like the bigger clubs have been proven right so far. Looking on things like social media and seeing donnelly driving around in brand new top of range Mercs and buying Rolex watches i suspect he may have already thought he has made it, the difference between him and Ben Davies seems to be night and day.

Thats just my view on him, seems to be alot of fuss over nothing, people ive talked to who watched him play alot for the u21's just reckon he is average/nothing special. football is all about opinions though .

Nobody is comparing them, it is talking about ability in whatever position you play. If you are good enough you will have game time. I am not comparing them. What I am saying is that we have more talented people at the club and people seem happy for them to go.

Both players are 22 and one is light years ahead of the other in terms of talent. That is what I am getting at.

I wouldn't say light years trunds i would say he got his break before donnelly for whatever reason. but Don is a tidy player who i think will get his chance this season at some point...

Yes he will dai, but not with us. I have watched him a few times this year and he isnt a bad player. Has a tidy finish at the level he has been playing, far to light weight though.

I believe a move to a league1 side as was mentioned earlier (loan that is) play competitive football will benefit him and allow us all to decide once and for all whether he is good enough.

If Donnelley 'has' to play for the Swans this season we really are in the mire!

He was given that opportunity and blew it.
He has been given chances after opportunities after cotton wool-ing.
Either he is good enough to play or not and so far he has shown he is not - we are not talking about a lad out of the under 17s. His is 22.

Bob, I cant argue with that. I personally dont think he is PL standard, but some do develop late. maybe a year on loan would define if he has a future with us or not.

We said the same when Davies had to take over from Taylor and we were pleasantly surprised by the outcome. how do you know Don wont do the same.?? You cant dismiss a player because he has not had a chance yet just like you don't buy a player that must have shown potential to bring him here in the first place...

    Errr... no we didn't !

Ben Davies was plucked from the u21's and taken on tour after Laudrup liked the look of him. Donnelly has been in and around the first team for about 2 yrs and has shown nothing . Ben was given a chance and took it, nobody formed an opinion on the lad because nobody had seen anything of him.

Yet more lies from you..tut tut .

I only recall some calling for a purchase of a new left back and considering Ben a stop gap, even Laudrup indicated as much. But Davies, only 19 at the time, took his opportunity to show his quality from game 1. Having seen Donnelley play, he has shown no such ability in his position.
Is it because he was a Brendon buy, because he is from the UK, not a Laudrup purchase or simply not Spanish that some posters are going overboard on their apologies for his lack ability?
Pozuello was not perfect but some way but he did have great qualities that others in the team don't, such as the ability to be involved, crack a tight defence and tackle which, in my book, suggests he is an asset to the club.
I don't dislike Donnelley and wish him well but, given his time with us, he is way beyond the standard that will make him a premier league player.

.. You dont seem to have a clue what goes on at the swans <doh> Davies was a kid thought too young at the time to step into taylors shoes but we had no choice at the time....Try listening to fans who actually go to games for once instead of making things up that you obviously know nothing about <doh>

    Norway is quite correct.

Lots of us on here "go to games" and think it's you who hasn't a clue.
    Disagree?
Let's vote on it....c'mon grow a pair of bollocks.

Talking of "making things up you know nothing about", we are yet to find a subject you know anything about!
You're the politics student who'd "vote UKIP if it wasn't for their policy on Europe" <laugh>
The football insider who doesn't understand how a release clause works <laugh>
The died in the wool Jack who doesn't know which position Leighton James played <laugh>
    etc.
