    Just a quick question

What happened to your prediction on the other board that the Superstar Jozy Altidore would score 15-20 goals last season for Sunderland ?

I'm pretty sure that in 30 appearances he only managed 1 !!

Canada and I had many a run-in regarding Jozy Altidore but we finally agreed to disagree and put the subject in the "Too Hard" Basket in order to retain the mutual respect and friendship we have developed over many years. Not so the American "Big Soccer" Boards who banned me because I had the temerity to suggest that if this bloke ever scored 20 goals in the English Premier League I would strip naked, stick a Didgeridoo up my @rse and f@rt the "Star Spangled Banner" whilst stood on one leg!
Unfortunately for Jozy he came with the same hype of that other goal scoring machine Freddy Adu who did absolutely nothing outside of the Mickey Mouse League (and is now back there). In recent years McBride, Donovan and Dempsey showed how it was done with some fine performances but all the excuses have been used for Jozy with "He doesn't get supply" and "He's only 19 - 20 - 21 - 22 - 23 - 24 etc., etc" being the major ones. A really nice bloke (according to my Grandsons who 'tweeted' with him regularly when he was with us) with 110% heart and love for the game but he had no end product. I honestly cannot see him being in Gus Poyet's plans this coming season.
It is commendable to 'Canada' that he has remained loyal to Jozy and continues to follow his career.

I actually thought he'd be high on confidence after a decent season and a big move. I thought he'd have gotten 10-15 goals this season. How wrong was I.

As some pundit put in one of the papers the other day, he is a very similar player to Emile Heskey but without the goal threat.:emoticon-0105-wink:<rofl>
