Does the collapse of Brazil have any similarities with that of United?

    Things in common:

Complacency?Quality of Manager? Players who think they are better than they are?

And in both cases, the fall dramatic and painful.

No I don't think so. Brazil, in my opinion, were never as good as people suggested. I mean they began the tournament as 3/1 favourites whereas I got 8/1 for Germany... What the hell?

I could understand joint 4 or 5/1 favourites seeing as they were the home side but 3/1...

United just had a blip. It was a testing season but I think they'll be fine with LVG at the helm.

Brazil are average at best, a 1 man team, to think they would win the WC is like asking Liverpool to win the league, they will be close but not good enough

Well done first of all on making a thread that isnt about us, not the most in depth thread but its a start <ok>

I think pressure. Alex took that pressure away from the players and got them to over achieve. Moyes couldnt manage this and you returned to your more rightful/realistic position of 7th <whistle>

I think Brazils players are better than they've showed the last 2 games, but like I said before the tournament they where incredibly overrated based on that 3/1 favourites quote from the bookies. They have got some good players, but they've also got a lot of dross. The likes of Fred and Jo wouldn't even get in the England squads ffs! Hulk has had it, all those games in Russia have ruined his game. Oscar is the most overrated player in world football, and even Mourinho has finally realised that. Ramires and Willian are just runners, and David Luiz is a joke of a defender. Gustavo is another who is utter dog ****e.

The quality players they do have are Neymar, Thiago Silva, Marcelo and Alves. Fernandinho is pretty good to

Both sets of players are overrated <ok>

The point about such a fall is the bigger the team the more difficult it is to turn round. I think it will take a while for Brazil to come good. That is why I keep asking united fans not to have high expectations.

Just like Moyes created so many unwanted records, scolari created many too with Brazil at this WC: first time in decades (40yrs+) that they lost at home, the worst defeat in a World Cup...

To give Brazil some credit, at least they don't have a dozy DJ bashing twat of a captain slipping all over the place.

Even with a fully fit squad, Brazil were a shadow of previous teams. Prior to this WC, Brazil were strong in every department, whereas this current side is dire.

The only comparison with United is that United can buy players of any nationality, Stating the obvious, Brazil have to pick Brazilians. Maybe their youth policy is tarnished due to so many youngsters going over to Europe and get forgotten.

He's a good player normally for Real Madrid, didn't have a great WC, but I think that was largely down to not trusting the players he had around him. Put him in a side with good players and he'll do better:biggrin:
