Feeling excited but very nervous at the same time. I have feelings if excitement around us starting the season positively and not the same nightmare as last year.

I am concerned about Connor being in the last year of his contract. Do we sell him if he doesn't sign a new one, or ride that horse till its heart gives out? I'm for riding his confidence for as long as it lasts if we can't get him to sign.

I'm expecting a big year from Catts, he's only gonna get better being coached by Gus. Last year he was awesome and very disciplined too.

Defensively is were I get nervous, we need some mobile ball playing CB's. Yeah Wes was awesome last year but for how much longer. Oshea scares the crap out of me. He is such a liability it could cost us.

It's the same **** every year supporting Sunderland, but I would never change it. This has been my club for 42 years and always will be.

Come on August, let's get it on!

We'd written him off so getting a good season out of him wouldn't hurt.

If he won't sign a new contract then there's little option for us but to flog him or play him.

To be fair few on here, or at the club, would have been too keen to give him another 3 years at the start of the season.

If he won't sign then sell him. I won't lose sleep.

    Connor wont leave for free.

Even if his contract runs down. The age he is means that we will be due compensation. Not that much to worry about really

i think conner will sign now he knows he will get games. we paid a shed load for him so it would be a piss take if we only got 5 good games out of him for that outlay

Are you sure about that? He's already been transferred and is on his 2nd pro contract. I'm not so sure that applies.

It still applies mate. Wouldn't have been 100% myself, however recently read a paper that stated we would be due compensation.

The paper could be wrong of course :/

I would give him until the end of July to sign a new contract then prepare to sell if he hasn't. We can't keep letting players run their contracts down with us, it's not good business practice.

Well summed up, he came to the wrong club at the wrong time, and was badly managed from the start.
