Here's the press release: "Try and picture the scene. Your wife smiling at you, or your husband hugging you. A friend you can count on, a dinner in a special place. Imagine music, art. Imagine the best goal Inter have ever scored, the game that gave you the biggest thrill. Imagine it. The best ever. Now that those sounds, tastes and colours are dancing in your head, now that you're thinking about the best thing ever, think of it in terms of the Nerazzurri. In terms of Inter. The team that makes your heart beat faster. A picture is gradually filling your mind, right? First a few simple lines, then circles come together and finally a star. It is starting to take shape. "It" is our new logo, now part of our team. Our "corporate identity" to use the appropriate jargon. An image which will be used everywhere: in our communications, on the team bus, at the academy. One voice for a special team. A team that will be Milanese and international. Fair and surprising. It will be legendary just as it always has been. Imagine it. Then look at the new logo. You'll notice they're much the same." The new logo: [nsfw] please log in to view this image [/nsfw] http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...elease-to-announce-new-club-logo-9589934.html Better job than a certain egyptian could have done.
Erm it's a circle with some letters overlaying each other. Unless you specifically knew it was Inter Milan, you'd never have a clue what it was for let alone who for.
I bet the fans are going mad over this, how dare they change it without consulting the fans. The removal of the star is removing their history/ heritage
Mods ! Mods! Look he hijacked the thread! It's one rule for one, and one rule for others. This poster is allowed to get away with murder. Just shows it's not what you know, it's who you know.
Please note the line at the bottom of the OP "Better job than a certain egyptian could have done." His post was on topic.
without consulting the fans - perfectly reasonable as that is the phrase normally used on this entire board, as is fans going mad.
It'll be none, cos like Hull City they've changed the badge about 10 times. I doubt any City fans will be singing that either. However if the new owner proposed changing the team name to Inter Nerrazzurri I imagine there would be a fan protest. The fans are pissed off about the removal of the gold star - although it's still on the kit - and said new kit, which is a f**king disgrace.
I actually like the new kit. I know it's not traditional inter, but put that aside and it's a very nice shirt. please log in to view this image You can't deny it's beauty.
You'd think the massive marketing dept at Inter would have a better clue than the small one we have. That's an awful badge, changed with zero fan consultation, and an abomination of a shirt that is a slap in the face of Inters long and proud history. A name change wouldn't surprise me with that track record. Fo real. Regarding the shirt, some of you seem to struggle to see the difference between a nice top to wear to a club or a bar and a football teams colours on a pitch. The shirt is like a battle standard of old. It's not meant to be a ****ing fashion statement, its meant to be a "THIS IS MY CLUB" statement, be that for the players or the fans. How can you describe a black shirt with blue lines down it a beauty is frankly baffling. It's got a ****ing massive Pirelli transfer ironed over it. A **** looking roundel badge that could be anyone. Plus minor advertisers down the bottom. You must have an uncontrollable discharge when you see a fella wearing a sandwich board or a WRC car.
I couldn't have put it better myself. This shirt in its own right is fine. I'm not disputing it is 'a nice shirt', it would even be fine as a 3rd Inter shirt. But one thing it ****ing isn't is an Inter home shirt. Contrast this with what Roma have done with their shirts this season and it hurts even more. Its a symptom of a loaded foreign owner with zero interest in football or the history of the club. Now where have we heard that before?
It's not 'consulting the fans' (like he had promised to do so) so much as the ****ish name change thing. No one expects consultation for every decision, but people expect ****ish unnecessary decisions not to be made. Hope this helps.
