I see we missed out on Suarez. Apparently we agreed terms, but couldn't cover his dental insurance. If Barcelona wanted a player who often isn't there, why didn't they sign Berbetov? - he used to disappear for ages - especially when he was playing!
Good point. At least with Berbatov he is physically there when he is not there whereas Suarez is not there at all - if you see what I mean.
Kieran Richardson confirmed to Villa on a 2 year deal. please log in to view this image Link tp pic: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsRmesnIQAA68Gx.jpg
Well Richardson has gone. All the best to him, he will do well for Villa if they play him on the left wing. Disappointing for us, because he was one of our best remaining players. I hoped he would want to stay and put things right with us, but he is entitled to his move. You are probably right that I was harsh - however it really doesn't speak well of the club last year that so few players want to stay/we want so few players to stay. Our spine really must have been rotten. Anyways onwards and upwards, if we have no team spirit next season it is entirely on Felix now. In Felix we trust - COYW.
Of the 14 players that were on the field for our first game of last season against Sunderland, only two remain - Steckelenburg and Stockdale.
Could this be Richardsonâs replacement. We are reported to be âvery interestedâ in Ehsan Hajsafi please log in to view this image âThe Iran international was part of the squad which put in an impressive performance out in Brazil for this summers World Cup. The winger is available to sign on a free transfer this summer, and Fulham and Cardiff are keen, but face a tough battle with Premier League side Hull City also having deep interest in the playmaker. Hajsafi can also play left back, as well as a winger, and is known for getting plenty of assists on the pitch. It will be a very tough battle for Fulham and Cardiff if Steve Bruceâs Hull City are chasing the Iran star as well. The twenty-four year old has been a professional footballer at Iran Pro League side Sepahan, since 2006. Whilst making one-hundred and eighty-four appearances for Sepahan and scoring twenty-four goals, the Kashan born winger has made sixty-four appearances for his country, scoring three goals, whilst wearing the captainâs armband several times. . Due to the Iran playmaker being well known to assist players when he can, Felix Magath no doubt will be hoping that he sets his sights on joining his Fulham side in the Championship, to help assist McCormack and to justify his price tag.â Source: http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/fulham-and-cardiff-join-hull-in-race-for-iran-winger/
How do you write an article that long linking Fulham with an Iranian player and not mention the fact we already have Iran's best player?
Hey GS, See your man Zoltan has gone back home and joined Ferencvaros. please log in to view this image Link to pic: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsRWqrqCcAENk0x.jpg
While we're on the subject of our exiles, I saw the other week that Chris Baird is back in the premier league having joined West Brom. Apologies if anyone else has already posted this and I missed it.
Reports from Turkey say that Besiktas have now set theit sights on Bryan Ruiz rather than Mitroglou. Source: http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=6148 And Other papers rumours today are that we are weighing up whether to allow Ashkan Dejagah to be sold to the Qatari side, Al-Arabia. Apparently, we have received a bid, said to be in the region of £5 million, for him. I've commented before that Dejagah should be among the priorities (if not the priority) of the WC players to keep. A valuation of £5m is probably in the right ball park but we would be foolish not to push hard to hold on to him; or if he insists on going for more.
Further reports claim that Bryan has agreed terms with Besiktas and that his transfer is imminent. [With apologies for translation] "For a long time Fernandes continues to search for number 10 instead of black-and-white management in Costa Rica's Bryan Ruiz number 10 has finished the job. BONSERVIS in Fulham Fulham'l PSV in Eindhoven last season soccer player who plays as a rental agreement in every respect with the black-and-white of up to one correspondence with the completion of the transfer to be announced in two days was expressed." Reads like a script from the Fast Show but I think I get the point - love the line who plays as a rental agreement, makes him sound like a hire car.
I see that the Michael Dawson deal to Hull seems to have stalled, it appears that the fee is agreeable but the player does not want to move north. At 4mil surely this is the sort of player we should be going after, a versatile attacking defender.
One without a reverse gear. If you can't beat them, join them. Just don't tell my youngest I had a dig at Bryan - he still won't have a word said against him.
According to the local paper we have made an offer for US World Cup star Matt Besler, but there is strong competition for his signature. please log in to view this image Link to pic: http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.608053106025761602&pid=15.1&P=0 "The Sporting Kansas City defender is attracting interest from a string of clubs following his performances in Brazil. Besler featured in all four games as Jurgen Klinsmann's side qualified from the group stages before bowing out to Belgium in the last 16. However, the 27-year-old's rock-solid displays at the back have not gone unnoticed, with several English sides chasing his signature. The Cottagers and Premier League outfit Sunderland are both understood to have made offers, while Aston Villa and Stuttgart are also keen." Source: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor.../fulham-sunderland-battling-world-cup-7437403 Can't remember if DR mentioned him during the World Cup but the legend Brian McBride was constantly singing his praises.
I said earlier that I had a friend who knows Stocky and he has come back to me saying that he has spoken to Stocky who did not play in Scotland due to a minor muscle injury, he is staying and has no plans to leave and is looking forward to the season!
Reports from Costa Rica (allegedly) confirming that we have give Bryan approval to talk to clubs in Europe. please log in to view this image [With a slightly less iffy translation] "Fulham England, owner of record of the Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz, the wheel have given permission to negotiate his future in Europe. And the Fulham will play next season in the English second division, is not intended to retain Ruiz after having been on loan to PSV Eindhoven. With this background, Ruiz can establish conversations, negotiate with clubs wanting his services, also referred to the English team.
