Morning Mike, hope there will be a blend of young English talent as well as Italian skill...

Smith is a very different player to McCormack, he just needs to concentrate on getting into the box when crosses are whipped in. No reason though why he cannot score 20 goals next season

Morning all ... morning Wallies ... so Hockaday finally got the chance to prove to Forest Green that he can send out a team capable of beating non-league sides ... at least the squad looks together so far, a good sign ... did Ross exert a negative influence on the dressing room?

Beating a team 16-0 shows one thing, desire .... it looks as if Hockaday is making it clear that the shirt needs to be earned, which is good ... there was no letting up, regardless of the opposition, and everyone wanted to make a statement ... the players kept going and that's a very good sign ... of course the test comes when results go wrong, as we saw last season when heads went a la Brazil ... but for now the signs are good, players working hard and trying to impress, just what's needed ... oh, and interesting that there are no squad numbers yet, so Hockaday is clearly making them sweat for their number

    Morning Old git!

Not just that, but doing it with a smaller squad may make a positive impact on morale.

    Morning all <ok>

16-0 is a great result even if it was against a pub team. A good run out, and a bit of confidence for the strikers (even Hunt! <yikes>).

Apparently we put Silvestri in their goal at 16-0 and he kept another clean sheet (following his 1st half one for us) Anyone think Cellino was on the phone threatening the hock to avoid a 17-0 (or would it be a 16b-0 result)? <laugh>

They could have stayed in Yorkshire and played against a local school team, with the money saved they could re employ their tea lady

lol that is funny ... thank goodness it wasn't 16-1 then ... or 11-6 ... or 9-8 ... do the coaching staff keep score in the 5-a-sides in training and stop when its 8-8?

Pretty sure players/coaches would have been sacked on the spot Billy!

Peeps, watch Ron Vlarrs penalty against Argentina the other night.

Keeper saves, but after the initial save the spin of the ball rolls back, and perilously close to the line.

    Would it have counted?

*ahem* of course, what was I thinking!

In the last second of that clip you can see Vlaar desperately look towards the line to see if it had gone in. Double disappointment!!
