Glad to see no-ones mentioned tennis as I would be deeply offended. Saying that, I can't watch Sharapova, Azarenka or Kvitova when they're grunting or making weird shrieking noises. I hold Monica Seles completely to blame for this generation of grunters. She started that nonsense.

No it's an intimidation tactic. Nothing else. I play tennis and very occasionally, a opponent will do it and it gets up your nose. It's distracting and deliberate. It should be dealt with and stopped at professional level. No tennis shot requires that much strain to cause such vocalisation except possibly the serve. Anyone straining that hard to hit a forehand or backhand is going to give themselves an injury or haemorrhoids haha!

Rugby. Just a excuse for some gay men to touch each other.

Agreed though I can sort of accept it when it's the 5th set of a 3 hour+ game

Except it is almost always the women. Sharapova, Kvitova and Azarenka are all great watches (from a sporting or non sporting perspective) with the sound off <ok>

The big cycle races like the Tour de France or Tour of Britain. The last one came through my village. First the hype, the anticipation, then the succesion of motor bikes about 50 or so then the cars with stickers, the helcopter and finally the cyclists. Whoosh all over in seconds as they rush by a mass of bikes.

What was all that about! LOL not really fair to call it boring, you don't see it long enough to get bored. Just a collasal fuss about nothing.

Basketball, utterly boring, pat pat pat score, down the otherend pat pat pat score. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

I seem to be in the minority in actually enjoying all the US sports :(

Basketball is probably my least favourite of the lot, but i'll still watch it.

Golf. And I don't think it should be considered as sport.

Nearly, got some dry patches so we're getting close. You should probably tune in to see the end

I think most of the complaints about tennis are just people that can't see past the toff image, there's a lot to like about the actual sport

At least local businesses didn't have to shut down to accommodate the TdF - unlike the Olympic road race, which cost several local businesses and entire Saturday in trade (which they weren't compensated for)

Also, American Football. It's a sport designed for ad breaks rather than sporting prowess.

It's positively riveting compared to baseball, IMO. Or Rounders, as I used to call it much to the annoyance of the Americans....
