Apologies if I've missed it, but who ever said all threads have to stay on topic? Most threads drift off, and many are better for it. The problem some posters have seems to be that threads drift into one particular topic which they don't like. These people seem determined to make the name change a taboo subject as if there's some shame in bringing it up. You might not care but that's not the rest of the board's problem. Others just like to moan whenever Blampey posts, and then say its the mods who have an agenda.
Nope, he just talks about recruitment and our strengthening squad. Y'know, football stuff. Just read the article and honestly tell me if it warranted ANY name change/anti-Allam comment?
That's utter bollocks PLT, I don't know of anyone who wants the name change topic to be a taboo subject. We comment on here as this club and it's history and future matter to us. I just don't want it slapping in my face on so many thread. I say again, as per my previous post, what part of Buckingham's article had any bearing on this becoming a name change thread. Are we not allowed to talk about football anymore, or do we constantly need reminding of our dark cloud?
"Standard close season column filler, glossing over the name-change fiasco, poor season-ticket sales and lack of sponsor." So if you say a reference to our Chairman is relevant, was the above a relevant mention?
It's an observation on the article, so yes. It's far more relevant than some of the stuff that followed, but I guess you're getting to them.
It's on very few of the current threads. Like this one, most mentions seem to be several comments on one mention. Do you think THIS works to achieve what you say you want? Would not replying to the comment and posting a discreet PM to a mod avoid thread like this?
It isn't exclusively football, but finances and chairmen are a part of football as well as a part of the article that this thread is about. I just checked, and there's one other current thread discussing the name change, which started off about the name change. This thread started off discussing an article on the clubs current position including reference to finances.
I'm just venting DMD. I think we're all aware of the futility of any kind of pointless PM requests for action, so I'll just keep pointlessly griping on here.
But when I asked can the threads about games be just that - threads about games, you stated it would close the site in weeks (or words to that effect). A number of people (probably including some who have never posted) would love just to talk about the game coming up. "How we can't wait to prove the Harry loving media wrong" - without it descending into the usual
Nobody is stopping you doing that. This thread is sod all to do with games. If you want to post a thread on that, just do it.
Wow, you get as many PM's on the subject as me? If you forward them on, I'll have a look and see which ones were missed among all the ones I've had and actioned. Have a look at your criteria and this thread. The bulk that you would have me delete are yours and those not so anti the name change as they are (by your standard) the most disruptive. Watch the comments on 'mod agenda's' come whistling in then.
BFT is right. You only respond to your mates requests. Any other, perfectly reasonable requests are ignored. This is another example of the chuckle brothers defending the boards resident bigot and encouraging his incessant bleating about the owners. You've, again, had numerous people point out what they think of him, as usual you dismiss it as a minority with their own agendas (which is obviously very ironic), and you will no doubt continue to "prune", move and delete posts from those of us who you are told to censor by your little buddy. It's a shame you seem to want this forum to go the same way as AN, CI etc and just have a small select group of posters who mostly agree with each other, when they can be arsed to post anything. Even through he's an odious attention seeking cretin, the main problem on this forum is you 2 clowns.
Really? And your basis for that ridiculous comment is what exactly? I'll guess it has the same substance as most of your spurious whines.
I love a good analogy and what you're doing is allowing the murderer to walk free but turning on the people who are vocal about their condemnation of the crime.
I love a good analogy too. That isn't one though. Using your criteria, you've committed the crime. If you really are wanting to discuss football, just do it.
Analogy - a comparison between one thing/scenario and another, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. Blampey took this thread off topic (and not accidentally). If you think anything different, then the brick wall I'm banging my head against just got thicker. Your inability or refusal to see what's in front of you is tiresome. You are proof that if you continue preaching the lie, it eventually becomes your truth.
In the first place, it's not a crime to post off topic, in the second, I don't agree it was off topic. In any event, your posts have taken it even further off topic. If you genuinely want to discuss football, nobody at all is stopping you. Just do it.
