After all the fuss Suarez only lost his balance and it was an unfortunate incident, surely FIFA should now reverse their ban, other wise the poor Victims FC will have to have more t-shirts made.
Apparently Bournemouth will get £6.5m from Southampton's sale of Adam Lallana to Liverpool. Nice little transfer pot!
Yes. That was on my local news the other night. Thought I had heard wrong. That must be a whopping wedge to add to Bournemouths finances.
Lallana was on Bournemouth's books until he was 12. They had a 25% sell on clause when Southampton poached him from them. Everyone down here has been living in fear of Liverpool and Southampton doing a dodgy deal where they sign two players, with Lambert (or whoever) heavily over-valued and Lallana undervalued by the same amount to cut down the amount owing to Bournemouth. Yes, it's a great windfall for Bournemouth, but it doesn't compare with the parachute payments that us, Norwich and Cardiff get. Don't dismiss Bournemouth for next season, by the way, even without the Lallana money. Last year they just missed out on the play offs in their first season up from League 1. They've got an excellent young manager with a first class record in spotting and developing young talent. They play attacking, passing football with genuine threat from the wings. I wouldn't be surprised to see them build on last season and be pushing for promotion in the next year or two. They won't be a pushover, anyway.

Slightly surprised that chief scout Barry Simmonds is one of those to go. By all accounts he was responsible for the recent signing of Shaun Hutchinson. Think he was the last of Roy's internal enclave, so definitely now the end of an era. Mind you he must have had wind of what was happening since Barry has got himself signed up - with Norwich.
Blimey, I wasn't expecting that. I think I mentioned a few months back that I got a book about football scouts last Christmas (and very good it was too), and Barry Simmonds came across well in the chapter where he featured. It sounds like we're losing a good man.
On another topic, check out the hysterical tweets after the Brazil -v- Germany game: @BitterOldPunk How do you say, "Brazil got their ass kicked" in Portuguese? @TheTweetOfGod The destruction of the Amazon is complete. #WorldCup @DrunkTedTurner Germany gets 10 goals, everyone in the stadium gets a free taco. And riot gear shield. #worldcup ‏@DavidEpstein in dog goals, it's 49-0 @rustyrockets They'll have 5 mins added on for the time Cesar has spent picking the ball out of the net. @psmith If only there was a German word for schadenfreude @jearle "Brazil, the Lannisters send their regards." - Germany. @mickmcavoy The last time I saw a Brazil this bleak it was getting directed by Terry Gilliam @Ihnatko ‏This seems like the right time to use the classic "Yank down the opposing teams' pants and then run back to the bus and split" play. @DarthRachel it's ok Brazil, you still have a chance if you catch the Snitch! @jhoffman NOW IST THE TIME ON SPROCKETS WHEN WE SKOR A GOOOOOAL.
Two more casualties of the cut backs are Ivor and Fred Callaghan. I realise that dropping down a League will hit the hospitality side of things but it's really sad to see such legends going. In fact, it's more than sad. It's wrong. Those two are part of our history and Shad Khan instead of putting his business hat on, should doff it to them.
Yes it is sad. Fred is the inspiration behind my forum alias - my all time favourite Fulham player, not particularly skilful, but he had a heart of a lion and never gave up. The absolute essence of being Fulhamish. Shame that nothing could be found to keep him at the club
Sad news about Jimmy Conway. http://www.oregonlive.com/timbers/index.ssf/2014/08/timbers_teammates_for_life_as.html Oldies on the Board will remember Jimmy and Les Barrett on the flanks with some fondness. Boy could they have taught the shower over the last couple of season how to cross a ball or take a corner.
Hahaha. How to make an impression with your new clubs fans. http://babb.telegraph.co.uk/2014/08...st-ham-tweet-not-looking-quite-so-clever-now/
Khan worries me to a certain extent, sure change was needed but there does not seem to be the flamboyance, and we can do attitude of Mo. Up until the last couple of years of his tenure he did splash the cash, and with his self publicity, raised FFCs profile along with his own. So "Khan" he or cant he, will he or wont he time will tell.
If Fulham don't go up this year I am not sure how much longer he will stick around. That is quite a nightmare scenario actually as lord alone knows who we would get - Ken Bates, maybe?
To be honest, the self-aggrandising and laps of honour was one of the things I never liked about Fayed. Maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned, but I always think that the pitch is for the players, plus coaches at a pinch. Owners, chairmen and other directors should stay out of the way on match days. It's not about them.
Agreed, Captain. I'll take the cold, hard, determined approach to team ownership over emotion and ego any day of the week. I suspect owning a football team's like marriage; if you're only interested in your spouse while emotions run high and everything is new and exciting, it's probably going to be short-lived marriage.
Having watched Fulham when we were no hopers (will we be back there)I have nothing but praise for what MAF did for us during his short time at the helm. sure he was an egotist but our rise up the divisions was due to his financial input, and win loose or draw I had some great moments at the cottage over the past 13 or so years.
