Got a lot of respect for Curtis.

 

A remarkable sporting story- strangely underplayed by the local and national media.

Fair play to him. I liked him even more when he knocked on the door of the kid who was abusing him on twitter. It's not often a pro footballer swaps sports and reaches a decent standard in both. Good luck Curtis.

 

Too right....starting to think id rather have this Curtis than the all of a sudden..`am the dogs bollocks...will demand a rise and buy more diamond earrings for myself` Curtis who weve got.... whos starting to appear exactly that!

 

Imagine how our local media would have reacted if it had been a local rugby league player who had done what he did.

 

Or if say Joey Barton had taken up boxing as he was bored with football - and won a belt.

He's retired more times than Frank Sinatra.

 

Can't be too many that have competed at a top level in two diverse sports. A few cricketers, like Beefy, but that was in a different era.

 

Oh dear.

 

The only modern one that springs to mind is Sonny Bill Williams who's played international rugby union and rugby league whilst defending his boxing titles.

The best ones are the absolute failures, Micheal Jordan trying to be a baseball players was one, Dwayne Chambers trying out for Cas Tigers was even funnier.

 

Just another column filler trying to deflect attention away from the real issues at hand.
