famouswise: Dear God, you should manage a winner or two with that lot! Seems you are determined to do a Fred Astaire at least once? GL to you and everyone else regardless!.....................
Filon I had a good day yesterday so i thought i would have loads of bets If i dont have 1 winner i will be so gutted
Derby Day. I've spent some time going over the Epsom race. It's obviously the leading guide to this race. With all due respect to those who chose other horses, I believe the race will be won by either Carlton House or Treasure Beach. At Epsom, Treasure Beach got the better run in transit. He was first to get a crack at the leader and showed great heart to battle away in the straight. A lot has been said about the run of Carlton House, a lot of it unflattering. I think the size of the field at Epsom played more toward Treasure Beach's favour, than it did Carlton House. Carlton House spotted Treasure Beach a heap of ground as they flattened out at Epsom, and only went down a length. He should be better served in a smaller field, which I think might be enough to turn the tide in his favour. Curragh 15:50. Carlton House. (Nap)
Don Had call this morning to say that he will be pulled out, got a little tweak on gallops yesterday not serious but after walking him round the horse walker this morning they decided not to take any chances.
Like Cyclonic, I've spent a bit of time on the Irish Derby, and, IMHO, any one of the Irish horses could win this? Very difficult. Carlton House was a bit unlucky LTO, although the ride from Moore was not the best. There's no Pour Moi in the field this time, so I go along with Cyclonic's assessment too. Sire Street Cry's stamina influence is questionable, but the damsire of Carlton House, Bustino, might compensate this discrepancy? Also, the damsire of Street Cry is Troy, which is an added plus as regards stamina. The selection really should stay this distance? Ground is drying out all the time, and with weather forecasts indicating a fine day, going will be good with a few good-to-yielding patches in the straight. Should suit the selection? Therefore: 15:50 The Curragh - Carlton House. GL one and all!
Is it completely mad of me to miss off what looks a good little two year old race just because I don't want that dodgy two hat P Blockley to win (under his new guise)?
can't see past carlton house, but i had a skinful last night and i'm randomly listening to robbie williams so what do i know!
Salisbury 2.00 - Graphic - This is one of those races that I have to be against the front two in the market because they have had winnable contests in the book but have failed to get their noses in front. In opposition we have some interesting sorts including second time out runners from the Hannon and Moore yards. Graphic of the Hannon yard is interesting, it was weak in the market on debut and looked in need of the run, he is a likely improver and at 10/1 I think he is a fair EW bet. 0.5pt EW 10/1 BOG Salisbury 2.30 - The race looks weaker than the first when you look at the form in the book, but we have a whole host of very interesting newcomers. This is a race to watch for the future. Salisbury 4.45 - Overpowered - An informative looking Conditions race with a good little field, and we could possibly see a future Group horse coming out of the race, the one I like is Overpowered. Paul Cole's horse ran a very taking race at Ripon, with the form being franked by a few finishing down the field. The horse looks overpriced today. 1pt win 15/2 I am not going to preview the other race because one of the trainers I don't want to give the time of day to.
