Kluivert was a class act, but then he was involved in a fatal car accident . Sadly, he never recovered from the trauma. Maybe he could have gone on to be one of the great dutch players, but that accident really took his love for the game away
They weren't on the pitch at the same time though, eh? Best front three is Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez in 2008 Best front four is Kanchelskis, Cantona, Hughes and Giggs in 1994. ****ing dynamite.
If the rest of the team had matched the forward line they might have, but this is about the best forward line not best team.
Which SAS, the original Shearer & Sutton? or Sheringham & Solskjaer Both were superb & both won the premiership
Pieres, henry, bergkamp. Great inter play and understanding between the 3 of them, henry was never the same after bergkamp retired.
A bit of history regarding a forward line. Back in the 60's Chester drew United at Old Trafford in the FA cup. A friend of my dad who was a director at Chester took me to the game, and Chester were winning 1-0 with not long left. Thankfully United scored 2 late goals, and I avoided the shame of school on the Monday had Chester won. That year Chester had a forward line of Mickey Metcalf, Gary Talbot, Hugh Ryden, Elfed Morris and Jimmy Hulmes, who between them 138 goals that season. At the end of the season, and I can't remember if it was Sheffield Utd or Birmingham offered Chester 125,000 for the 5. In those days that was a fortune, but Chester declined. One year later, all the 5 players had left Chester, some on free transfers. I know it was a long time ago, but I was very grateful Chester never held on for a win.
Yes, of course. £85m or keep an unhappy player. For those without a Russian gangster bankrolling them, there was only one decision.
Klinsmann, Sheringham, Barmby, Dumitrescu and Anderton was pretty handy. Shame we conceded almost every time we lost the ball though.
