Good signing Gardener, a young English player that seems to have slipped under the radar from the silly money inflated prices we have been seeing. With Gibson too we should have a very strong midfield next year. Remember lads its not just about the starting 11. Think of how many injuries and suspensions we had last season. Just need a few more: Nzog, Welbeck, Wickham, Evans, Oshea and I think I will be happy. Its a big investment but then again we made a lot of money from Judas and Hendo. We also don't have the wages of Mensha and Onouha to pay. I can see us selling Gordon too, if not now in January.
Good thread, this Been away for the job all week (same next week) so catching up on anything new. Seems like Craig Gardner is the only new item, which is a big one TBH. Let's hope it is true. Can I sign up for the new brigade? The "Could Not Give A **** About N'*****a And Hope He Signs For Someone Soon" brigade. Good player, no doubt about that, but heart is questionable IMO and, like Syd said, give me a Bardo every time over any overpriced prima donna.
Ah the society of, "for he shall not be named" We're hoping to recruit a large number of new members to this rather exclusive group. But it's not easy as everyone seems to think it's the second coming of christ, and keep including him in their team selection, i'm waiting for the first mention today, should be coming soon. Your an honourary member danny..
What did you type in as your search, for enrique and gutierez to be connected with the second coming of christ? something to do with hero worship...
Won, Larsson, Westwood and now maybe Gardiner. 4 in so far? Now the club will step up their hunt for the Man Utd trio (although I cant see Brown coming the other two may well fancy the challenge), Whickham and N'Zogbia (I reckon Liverpool have decided its Downing they want now). N'Gog still on the radar but something tells me this ,may well be dropped for financial reasons now. We hold the upper hand and should get Liverpool to pay for most of the wage hike he wants. Lots of talk too about Nedum maybe coming back and I' have gone on record as stating he is a good player for me (as a centre half though) and Welbeck rumoured to be less than willing to go back to reserve or bench time. However, its the 2 full back positions that concerns me. Bardo is the only recognised full back art the club and he is playing on the left as a right footed player? Would love to see Hutton and a left back brought in as well. That leaves one big striker signing to my mind to finish off the summer signings and that's a total guess as to who the club have targeted. It seems Bruce want s Crouch but he club dont fancy paying for a 30 year old with no resale value. However, again as I have said many times, Crouch is a superb player and if we could get 3 great years out of him, SAFC will benefit immensely in that time. Gyan and sessegnon would relish playing off a technically excellent footballer like Crouch IMO. Not all of these will come off though, as there are just too many targets but if 75% of them do we can consider it to be a really positive summer IMO and the first step for me to Bruce showing he hasn't lost the ability to turn the 4 months slump around. Much rebuilding had to be done this summer (not the best planning it has to be said after 2 years in charge) and these signings would go some way to pulling it round.
Dont think the resident S.A mericans are much in any fans minds. Bruce say's they have a chance, yet we are linked and seemingly getting several midfielders, so where is Riveros gonna fit in? way down the pecking order. Maybe if they do return, a loan spell somewhere may help, otherwise they will be stuck on the bench at best.
They have to be off loaded totally for me. It hasnt worked but wont have cost us a kings ransom for any of them to be fair. They simply dont have the heart for the battle IMO.
tbh nzogbia you can have him if you pay up soon £12m and i whould drive down to wigan pick him up and then drive him to the stadium of light dump him off and drive home
