After just playing a couple of games for Nigeria at the World Cup, Super Eagles midfielder Babatunde Michael might be reaping the rewards of two sterling performances at the World Cup with English Premier League side, Sunderland.
The 21-year old claims to have received an offer from the English side, who barely escaped relegation from the English top flight. And Babatunde has told SL10 about the offers on the table, “I have received an offer from several clubs but the one from Sunderland is the one that interests me,” Babatunde said.
“I have received several offers from different places, but I’m interested in the one from Sunderland. They have contacted my agent, and we will see how it goes from there.”
Scouts from some English clubs were at the World Cup and watched some of Nigeria’s games and it is believed Sunderland is one those clubs that sent their scouts to Brazil, with Babatunde emerging as one of the standout players for Nigeria despite playing just two of Nigeria’s four games.
Babatunde also revealed several offers that have come his way since his World Cup appearance.
“There are about two offers from clubs in Turkey as well, which are both under consideration and will be discussed at the right time,” he added.
And on his future with his present club, Volyn Lutsk, Babatunde says he most likely will be leaving the Ukranian side.
*“I’m probably going to leave Volyn. We have to discuss the offers on ground but most likely, I will be leaving this summer,” Babatunde concluded.

sounds basically like another Ndiaye/Cabral situation...

Can we not just keep Ndiaye instead and save a transfer fee?

I don't want Alfie here, he's a square block for a round hole in our system, I want Gus to bring in his team in. One that's fit for purpose. Not previous manager's cast off's who can't play the way we need him too.

Don't recall this bloke TBH. But the reports on him seem sound. Any idea as to what he'll cost (fee/wages)?
