It's probably nearer £8M, given that there were apparently bonuses and add-ons to come later, and a 15% sell on fee to Cardiff. But, there's no doubt that Cellino drove a harder bargain than we'd have seen with previous owners. The long contract helped of course.
Hey Sniffer, Cellino said he already had the monies lined up for the players, and didn't factor Ross's monies in. With the extra, Cellino will invest further...
He will hopefully buy an unplanned striker for a couple of mill and the rest will go towards buying our church back. Imo
My understanding from the more I read about this transfer is that we are paying Leeds £6m with add ons dependent on success and appearances that could bring it to £11m. So, if we end up paying that much, that would suggest we have gone up, won cups, etc and McCormack has played a big part in that success.
I imagine its only promotion and appearance based but I've heard its and 8m fee with 6m upfront and 2m over a course of time, the rest is add-ons. Not saying your wrong. Its like every transfer these days, its so hard to put actual figures to transfers.
I am beginning to think you haven't got a clue? Late in the window? 60-70 percent of transfers nationally have still be announced. It's a World Cup year and business is always done later after the trickle down effect of World Cup transferees has occurred. Always follow the money.
talking about the fact the squad is over in italy doing a training camp and (hopefully) most of them won't even be playing. I admit it doesn't matter THAT much but I'd suggest we were the last team in the championship to actually sign anyone although that was because of the transfer embargo. Birmingham have already brought in 8 players for example.
The only team with a squad worse than ours from last term. They still need 14 more new signings.we will finish above them this coming season.
The general opinion seems to be " oh didnt we do well getting a load of cash for macormack now we can buy players" when push comes to shove his goals prevented us from the leauge one trap door, once again we sell off the family silver this time the very last bit of it ! ok we dont know yet what the true circumstances of this transfer was ? but I for one think its yet another sad chapter in our recent history.
