In the 1st 5 minutes he threw 2 elbows, they didn't really connect but he should have got booked once at least.

I think he is a better deep lying playmaker than a defender, well he is a pretty **** defender so he can't be much worse as a deep lying playmaker.

He has no sense of awareness and ball watches. And PSG paid 40m for him...

I agree, he was Jos last night defending space as players ran by, however he did play some great through balls and his strength is in the middle of the park, where he played well at times for Chelsea. He is very lucky not to have not been sent off more than he has however and sooner or later Refs will have to take action against him. A bit off topic, but we had a center back (twice) in Stan Varga who I always thought was a shoe-in as a midfield player but he was never utillised there, we will never know of course, but he looked a menace attacking and defending in equal proportions.

I noticed that in loads of matches Luiz was strolling about, and no player tried to pressure him but that changed last night. The Germans are the master tacticians you have to say, they will have a game plan for Messi or Robben and Van persie, and they way they passed the ball to each other is probably the best performance I have seen since 1978, Italy vs West Germany in 1982, The Italians were awesome that day, Argentina vs England 1986 as good. I had a 2-1 semi final win to Germany and Muller to score first last night ! I will put a bet on Germany to beat the Argies 6-0 in the final !

I'm going to stick up for the bloke.

Everyone knows he is a bad defender and a better CDM. So he puts a bad performance in and peopel want to crucify him? What were people expecting, Brazil to shut out Germany without their best defender. He is not a natural leader either, again Silva was unavailable. Where were the other defenders, Dante of Bayern Munich, MArcelo of Real MAdrid both recently won the CL, Maicon has CL medel too (i think) is hugely experienced. The defensive cover, where was that? He stepped up when no other Brazilian was going to. He cares, perhaps too much. I'd rather that than what we have had to put up with over the years. They were missing their most important players in the talisman Neymar, and heart of defence Thiago Silva. They were the poorest Brasil team I can think of and the amount of pressure they were under was like driving a big American 18 wheeler over a weak bridge and blaming the bridge builders when you know it was going to hold beforhand.
