Swansea close in on £4m deal for Bosnian midfielder "Swansea are on the verge of finalising a deal for Ferencvaros youngster Muhamed Besic, according to sources in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Besic, the Bosnia international, has been chased by a number of clubs in recent weeks, with Everton, West Ham, Cardiff City, Celta Vigo and Sevilla among his reported suitors. But he will be on his way to Swansea, according to Bosnian news site Klix.ba, as Garry Monk's side have agreed a £4m deal with Ferencvaros. The 21-year-old midfielder, who started his career at Hamburg, is poised to sign a three-year contract with Swansea and he is expected to head straight to the USA to join up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour."
Sounds like we are letting Gwion Edwards leave...permanently...to Crawley Town. Shame he didn't come through for us. All the best to him.
If it's true about Gwion, that's a shame. He's always looked handy for the U21s and I thought he may find game time in cup games and the like. Kenji Gorre is our next big winger hope I guess.
This guy is only 5ft 10" so I doubt he would be a regular CB. In any event, Chico seems to be tearing it up in training and I'm hoping that's for us and not some other team.
I'd like to think a replacement for Canas as IF Chico were to go, we would need an out and out centre back.
Valley and Ivor. Would be perfect if he was bought to replace Canas as he would become a 5th option at centre-half....and he could easily be used there. e.g. Chico suspended....Ash and Amat start...Bartley is injured....Besic becomes a useful option.
Bosnian reporter; "70% of the earth is covered by water. The other 30% is covered by Muhammed Besic."
Hibs turn down Swansea bids for Jason Cummings "Hibs have turned down two bids for 18-year-old striker Jason Cummings in the last couple of weeks. The first bid from the Welsh side was in the region of £70,000, with the second slightly over £100,000. Both bids were quickly turned down by the club and it's thought the former Hearts youth is keen to stay at Easter Road and help shoot the club back to the SPL. Cummings broke into the Hibees first team last season, playing a number of games, before finally scoring, twice, against Hamilton Accies in the relegation play-offs last season. He scored over 30 goals for the club's EOS & U19 sides last season. Swansea are still interested in the youngster, but so far, no third bid has been recieved by the club."
Swansea join the race for Watford forward Deeney "Swansea City have made a bid ‘in excess of £5m’ for Watford forward Troy Deeney, according to Sky Sports. The Hornets will find it hard to keep hold of Deeney this summer following back-to-back 20-goal seasons, and have already rejected bids from both Burnley and Norwich City. They will be reluctant to sell the 26-year-old, however, particularly as they have recently reunited him with Czech Republic international forward Matej Vydra. The pair combined for 44 goals in all competitions during the 2012-13 season, helping Watford to the Championship play-off final. More to follow…"
Hope this doesn't mean that Bony is on his way. This would give us 3 front line strikers with Emnes to call on as well and I wonder if Deeney would be happy as a third choice striker even if he is new at this level. He's no youngster at 26 years old and we can't keep them all happy.
