While I understand why the likes of Bony, Gomis Vorm etc are not in Chicago with the rest of the squad, why isn't Michu,Pozuelo,Canas and Pablo Hernandez on tour. Whilst Chico is there he doesn't look happy. Until they're moved on they should be working hard within the squad, I have no doubt they're being paid. Needs to be sorted not left to fester.

Probably not there because they are leaving soon. Maybe deals are more or less complete or they've already been told they're not needed. So no point being there if that's the case. But only the club knows why and they aren't saying. Don't worry about it, it will sort itself out.

Yeah - obvious solution: if you have problems within the crew, or in the squad, ignore them: they'll go away...

Most likely they won't - they'll grow and become a part of the Clubs negative reputation and culture.

I wasn't aware all those players are missing. It's been common knowledge Pozuelo and Canas are personas non grata for some time and Michu was effectively history but I didn't want to lose Pablo. That's a shame imo. As for Chico he'd better get is head down or sod off. Simple.

If we're not careful we are going to have to knit far too many players into the 1st team...which would be very risky imo.
Management is about leading people who don't necessarily want to be led.

On a management training course many years ago we were told some people need to be pushed and others need to be pulled along. Perhaps those not on tour are being pushed out of the door whilst those that are on tour are being pulled(led). I disagree about Chico, in the videos I have seen he looks serious, focused and up for it.

Something obviously happened at the tail end of last season re Pozeulo. If he's rocking the boat and causing disharmony, then he needs to be shown the door.

As for Canas, well he's pants. His positional sense is shocking. His passing accuracy is terrible. He flies into tackles and gives away way too many free kicks. Goodbye Canas.

As for Pablo, well I like him a lot. He's inconsistent though. Maybe a luxury too far?

As for Chico, he's staying. He will be a rock for us next season.

As for Michu, he's off isn't he? Get £8-10m and cut our losses.

There you go Roofy. No need for any sand after all.

Pablo hardly looked like was unhappy the way he played under Monk did he? People talking about Monk rocking the boat etc, he seems to have put his differences with Chico to one side. We seem very close to tying up a few deals with very good wingers so if Pablo goes, good luck to him. Not a big loss given his unavailability to numerous injuries, as for the others, the sooner they get kicked out tge better.

Looks like we're signing that Bosnian defender so not sure about Chico's future.

campionijack, who says Pozuelo is "rocking the boat and causing disharmony"?

Do you have any reliable sources to substantiate these insinuations?

Valley,"the sooner they get kicked out the better".

Well, since they are all under contract, compensation will have to be paid, were that to be effected,a la the Michael Laudrup "kicking out".

Good Manager's,and I'm not only referring to the football variety, don't sideline/ignore members of staff the way Monk has with the likes of Pozuelo. He was a regular performer under Laudrup, but has been curiously put to one side by Monk. It all smacks of a personality clash to me.

Pozeulo never got a look in under Monk. Usually not even on the bench. I'm only guessing as to the cause.

If they're all still "on message" then I have no problem at all with them all staying (except Canas, who is still pants)

In the training videos I've seen Chico was enthusiastic and leading the sprints - no doubt he was "getting his head down" there. Interesting that in one of the vids Emnes was hardly going for it, trailing in last, or near last. Is he getting his head down? Only mentioned it because I've read Boro fans complaining that he was just going through the motions for them. Too early to say yet of course.....

I'll be surprised if Chico is still here come September but maybe Monk sees him as a managerial challenge. He undoubtedly has great defensive qualities but his rash antics could have potentially got us relegated last year. If he stays, it will be interesting to see whether Monk can improve him.

I thought the Bosnian Muhamed Besic was a midfielder not a central defender.

A lot of people ascribing their wishes to fact on this thread.
Chico looks fit, well and keen to play ... for Swansea. He. made a few comments to that effect in the break and nothing shown in pictures or video suggests anything else.
Signing the additional centre back should worry Williams and Amat more than Chico.
No one has suggested Pablo and Michu may as we'll stay off until the World Cup players are back because they will. form the bais of our attack and attacking mid-field, so start them off as a group. Unlikely, but always possible.
    However.
From everything I have seen and read of Michu he seems an honest, committed and loyal player so if there was division in the camp last summer with Monk and other senior players at the heart of it I can understand his reluctance to play with, and now for, those players.

Shame if Chico goes in September as I don't expect Monk to be here at Christmas!
And I think Chico is a better centre back than monk is a manager.
(I actually thinnk Chico is one of the best centre backs in the Premier League.)
