Tom Ince seems to have been courted by Inter Milan, if the stories have any truth, and is now joining Hull.

So, how are we going to attract Neymar and Messi? Easy. Just tell them that they don't have to live in Hull. Sorted.

Does anyone believe that Ince actually turned down an offer from Inter Milan?

They only expressed an interest because of his dad, let's be honest.

Yeah, at the advice of his agent or his Dad. Djibril Cisse's son turned down Man Utd to join Crewe. Again, surely at the advice of someone. I think most people would say both are examples of good career moves.

A quote by the visithullandeastyorkshire tourism board (rolls of the tongue doesn't it)
Here's a new quote they should toy with:
"Hull - If you like being viciously buggered by skinheads then Hull is a must visit location for you (If you can't afford going to Glasgow)"

Most cities have more history and are more attractive than we give them credit it for. It's all in the name...Hull. They would have done better to stick to their full name of Kingston upon Hull.

I think I saw it on Britain's Crappest Towns and the Cadbury's hot chocolate factory where they make the powder gives off the unfortunate bi-product of a foul-smelling "fart" gas that clouds over the entire city. I could be mistaking this for somewhere else but let's not let the truth stand in the way of a good story.

I think you are all being very, very harsh about Hull. Anyone been to Portsmouth lately?

I like Hull. Saw them beat Saints 1-0 (F.A. Cup) in 1966. People did try to kill us afterwards though which I found strange, after all they won.

Don't worry about it mate. Just on the quiet, there are parts of Southampton that give new meaning to the term "utter ****hole".

Also, have you ever been to Stoke?

Regarding Ince, he would have been a useful acquisition in the Championship (although we didn't need him as it turned out) but he's not quite the standard we are looking to attract now.

Hull is alright, it's better than Portsmouth & Swindon & Eastleigh.

Whether it was a serious offer or not, does beg the question if he's choosen an easy life over one that might have tested him.

I think the skinhead bit must be suggesting the 'Benefits Britain' program. Hull is a pretty easy target for that kind of program maker.

The same skinhead that said........on camera, without any concern or worry.........

.......'I get on with anyone me......Well if they're English I do'

This chap with 'White Power' tattooed onhis neck is quite obviously not a fair representation of people from Hull but there are a fair few easy target areas in the North!!!

It is disgraceful that some of our oldest cities are described as the worst places in Britain. Their current condition is a result of the heavy damage suffered by so many important European cities in the last war. Southampton had the heart ripped out of it because we were busy making the spitfire and PLUTO, we had a very important docks facility and we were an important embarkation point for the Allied Armies. Southampton, Hull, Coventry, Swansea, Portsmouth et al were smashed to bits so that places like Winchester, Guildford etc. could remain nice pretty places for the middle classes to live.

I am proud of our city and its great heritage just as I am sure the good people of Hull are justifiably proud of their city.

Hull is the home of Seven Seas cod liver oil; they'll all be fit as a fiddle.

....and regular as clockwork I should imagine<laugh>

I tried cod liver oil capsules once when the benefits of fish oil were in fashion and because I can't abide the smell or taste of oily fish. Only once, because whilst they were tasteless on the way down, I kept repeating fish oil all morning.
Never been to Hull but it's the same with the inhabitants of any town; the locals might not think it's great, but when an outsider criticises it, it will get defended to the hilt.
A more subtle approach is to casually ask a question such as, "so tell me, what's the best thing about living in Portsmouth?" And then watch the cogs slowly turning.:)
