Great signing for you lot but i find it strange that its just a 2 year deal. Undoubted potential, very good player now and still quite young. I would have thought you would try and get him on a long term deal, basically if he has a great season he will be off next summer
If he leaves us and is 24 does the tribunal think still count? Two years is a short deal and wouldn't offer much time to sell on for a profit...
That's probably something he wanted rather than us to be fair. I'm happy just to have him in a tigers shirt!
Hopefully its a 2 year with an option for a 3rd. If not you are right and he will probably be off next summer.
Wonder if only having a 2 year contract affects the tribunal? Doubt it but just throwing the idea in. You have to expect an option of a 3rd maybe depending on what division we're in, surely we haven't put ourselves in such a vulnerable position given we'll have to pay a few million for him
Hopefully we have the option to add a 3rd year... If we dont then its a VERY strange deal indeed and does make you wonder why...
I'm sure this is the case. We've really shown some intent this close season I feel. I really hope we can kick on next season after a season where we widely exceed my wildest expectation!! #excited
Was just gonna post that the wife came in from Prinny quay and a certain Hull city member has told her Ince will sign today . Also said the kit unveiling will be tomorrow in photo shoot ,probably will name the sponsor too .
The kit being unveiled tomorrow has been on twitter. Apparently there will be 2 sponsors if the same twitter stuff is correct.
Watching that interview and he looks really confident, which i like. Good that he knows some of the lads and of course Brucey and the staff. Got a packed Midfield now, just a few more signings away from a very tidy squad, and theres still plenty of time.
It might be able to reduce the amount of compensation you have to pay. It will be peanuts anyway it always is.
I know that some of what he says could just be talk, but I liked how often he said he needed to work hard and improve his game in order to prove himself.
A 2 year deal will undermine his value today to City when it goes to tribunal to fix the fee; I don't anticipate we will secure an amicable agreement with Blackpool, they want £8m (£6.5m less Palace loan fee), we are offering £3.5m; big difference! If he does well I'm sure we will either extend or be able to sell on at a profit. For all we know an option for a third year may already be written in?
Ince, Snodgrass and Livermore. 3 really solid signings and there's at least 12-13 other PL clubs who'd love to have these 3 on board with them. Last year (after Brady got injured) we lacked players who got the ball and were really positive, driving at the opposition defence. Now we have 2 quality additions who give us that. We done SB, well done indeed.
