Only seen black and white clips, but looked a hell of player. It must of been a huge honour when you signed for Real Madrid to have your shirt presented to you him. RIP.
A bit fuzzy: I remember seeing him and Puskas when Real Madrid played Eintracht(?) at Hampden Park (on telly) R.I.P. - a fabulous player.
Always makes the lists of all time top players. Favourite player of the likes of Bobby Charlton and my own boyhood idol Denis Law. He, and others, will forever be etched in the memory of those of us old enough to have seen the 1960 European Cup Final. Seeing a live game on TV then was something wonderful and a novelty. It being the first European Cup Final to be shown live was exciting enough but to then see Real take apart ateam which had beaten Rangers 12-1 on aggregate in the semi-final was something no one who watched it will ever forget. RIP to a true great.
Not only a great player but a great leader, what he said went. Think it was Didi the Brazil player who signed for Real, won Wc's with Brazil, great player. Di Stefano got rid of him. Puskas came next and, great player that he was, he bowed to Di Stefano. RIP

Me too, and I have to admit I must thank royalty for that.....if it hadn't been for QE2's coronation my gran would never have bought a telly & I would never have seen it. Great hearing Wolstenholme's low-key commentary. Don't think he ever used the word "brilliant" in his whole career ?
