I don't wanna see this guy go... but £10m is a lot of money and would represent 5 TIMES what we paid for him...

    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/monaco-fans-reaction-moussa-sissoko-transfer-interest/?

The French media is full of reports that Monaco intend to make a bid for Moussa Sissoko.

It’s claimed that the Ligue 1 club are happy to meet Newcastle’s asking price of around £10m and that higher wages and Champions League football will satisfy the Newcastle midfielder’s ambitions.

Monaco are desperate to recruit more French players and Sissoko is one of a number of players they are hoping to recruit this summer.

What do the Monaco fans think though?

These are some of the comments posted by the club’s fans in reaction to the transfer speculation – mixed feelings! Thanks as always to Pierre for the invaluable translation services.

“I feel that Monaco do not recruit well. I guess Sissoko is OK but not good enough if we want to win the title.”

“He will be a good recruit, the guy is simply a powerhouse!”

“An average player, not the calibre that we need!”

“Playing in front of 300 spectators won’t be much fun!!” (sounds like a fan of one of Monaco’s rival has joined the debate…)

    “Excellent acquisition if it happens.”

“A good move for him, it will allow him a new level and the opportunity to experience an ambitious club and fight to get the title from PSG. However, if the transfer takes place he will find it hard to be first choice in the midfield with Kondogbia, Toulalan, Moutinho and James playing there already!”

“I like this player, looking back he should have played against the Germans, he might have made the difference with his shooting. Good choice for Monaco if we manage to get him.”

“Are you kidding me, the guy cannot control the ball, all he does is run like a headless chicken and often forgets the ball !!!”

Speaking of Monaco.. they have no fans so IO struggle to see how they will avoid any FFP punishment further down the line... oh yeah.... I'm assuming that FIFA have balls and are not corrupt...

I think they are a bit harsh on him. He is a bit lazy and not the most tactically astute, but since being putting on the right he has looked quite good for us. 10m is a cracking deal however. I think Mike would snap their hands off. Just another bod to replace for us however. Prefer to retain him and add others.

Hot off the press... apparently Liverpool are interested too so that figure could easily double.

£10M would be good business IMO - BUT IT HAS TO BE REINVESTED IN THE TEAM/SQUAD

We keep talking about good money, but rest assured it will be for Ashley, not the club. We haven't exactly got past form for replacing big players who leave.

No wonder our players want away. The club shows no ambition under that ****house.

That is why it is only good business if it is used to reinvest in the squad. Otherwise, even from a financial point of view, its bad business. The bank balance can't play on a Saturday.

This is it. I think most supporters have become a bit numb to the whole situation now. We expect players to leave if the money is good, and we fully expect to try to scrape through on meagre resources. At the end of the day we still have Pardew to unleash our frustration on. Its all his fault really.

Other than fringe players such as Ferguson, Sammy, Marveaux, Obertan etc nobody else should be allowed to leave.

Even if we do sign the rumoured 5-7 players that we're after, they aren't all going to be ready for Premiership football come the first game of the season. I actually feel Sissoko will kick on this season and become a very big player for us. Our squad is small enough without losing anymore regular starters.

Simply put if Sissoko goes we'd have lost Debuchy, Cabaye, Sissoko and Remy in the space of 6 months. Over a third of our starting 11, that can't be healthy for a club at any level and any new recruits will take time to integrate in to the team and league. I wouldn't even sell him for 20m at the moment, we don't need the money after mkaing the best part of 30m from Cabaye and Debuchy, we already have enough funds to strengthen the squad so why weaken it some more by selling Sissoko, Gouffran etc.

I don't understand why £10M is 'Good Money'. It's not! £20M would be good. It is irrelevant how much you buy a player for. He has enhanced his rep in the World Cup so I'd be surprised if he went for £10M. £8M for Debuchy (or however much it is) also seems cheap to me when you consider Luke Shaw going to Man U for circa £32M.

Both Siss and Debuchy are underpriced
My valuations are £16m Siss, £14m Debuchy but then I guess length on contracts etc matter...

I'd be crushed let Moussa go. I see him as our future captain.

<yikes> Frightening prospect for me as he shows no desire to lead, particularly when we are up against it. I don't think he has that game management intelligence you need as a captain either. Its why Colo, Tiote and Cabaye all made good captains. All have a good fighting spirit. Cabaye and Colo have the added intelligence to read the game.
