And for how much, would you pay if it was out of your pocket, ie you had a few million in loose change, so to say.
Please, no Messi's Rooney's or similar, cheers.

Right now, I'd take anyone. But probably the best marquee signing would be a new chairman.

I used to go to the Marquee Club back in the early 70s, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, great bands, great days, great highs...

The football wasn't too bad then either...

I think the only Marquee Bernie will sign is the one for his daughter's wedding...:headbang:

Le Fondre £750,000 will probably be the level we will end up, what do we do go for over the hill, one last pay day experienced players or young and hungry with prospects.
A mixture of both is probably what is needed, I just don't know any more feeling rather deflated over the whole thing.

That was a bit before my time, but my older sister saw them as well as all the big 60s groups. I'd love to have seen Hendrix when he played there with Clapton...

Which side does Hendrix play? Would make a class double act with Clapton on the wing.

I've got a feeling the most we are going to spend is around 1.5million on Ambrose. Then we'll get a couple of other players in for around £1million. Macunuff or whatever his name is or Routledge and maybe a defender for around £1million. The rest will be free transfers!

Bullard! A snip for free. Just take his two year contract (£45k per week).

Look, we're desperate. Just take him for a season long loan. Please.

Depends how you define marquee? Someone we spend a lot of money on or someone who is half decent...........

    I like Ambrose but for 1.5mil??? A mil at most. Who do i really think we will get accepting that we are stuck with 'thegoons'?;

    Ambrose - £1m
Bullard - Loan for season is £1.4mil
    Ranger - £1m

Maybe spunk a wad on like of Keane, i would like to see us go toe to toe with bigger clubs for Bothroyd though!

Bullard's closer to 2 million for a season of wages but you'd be paying 20-25k a week to someone else similar anyway!

Go on, take the risk. He played well for Ipswich last year.

Bothroyd on a free but keep his wages within our structure. Upson on a free and pay as you play. Walker season long loan. Oops, I haven't spent any money... sound about right.
