My daughter was out on the town last night and informed me that the Courts Bar has now closed for business, it shut at 11pm Saturday night it seems. All seems rather sad to when I use to go round town a few years ago back then the place was buzzing.
that's a real shame ...good boozer and cheap!!!!! had many a good Sunday afternoon in there....as it closed for good or refurb ?
Don't know about that tigers 1970 my daughter just happened to be in there last night when it closed up, if I get an update I will post it.
It's full of dirty desperate alcoholic types and mucky old men. Good riddance to it. There's a place for this type of establishment but the old town isn't it.
It's been up for sale for a while and is currently under offer, it seems ridiculously cheap for a pub and three bedroom apartment in a very nice listed building(£200k).
Use to love Courts Bar. Decent music and cheap bear. Always use to get chatted up by older women in there haha. Always mega rammed. But sure what towns like I've not been round town for 18 months.
sounds like a dive from whats being described , had to google it to figure where it was , i guess its a bit like Lyrics bar but a nice building
It's in an area where you have mainly older pubs and bars that specialise in real ales and stuff. Then you had Courts Bar and lyrics with massive posters outside advertising a pint of Carling for £1.70, so it just used to get those raisin-dry, twisted face types outside from 11am, chucking cig ends all over the road and grunting at passers by. Nice big building, and now an opportunity to improve.
It's in the land of green ginger, it's right next to where Mrs Tommytiger lives. Wish theyd shut lyrics instead. What a ****hole.
lyrics recently lost its licence for outside drinking due to the noise and mess lyrics is f**king awful I was in courts bar for euro 2012 watching england v France and some middle aged man almost started on me for having Beckenbauer trainers on
for the 2010 WC i was touring the pubs with a mate in the one at the end of LoGG (is it Burlington) In there a woman 50ish and a younger woman of a similar grace were cuddling up to the elderly loners at the bar . then in one bizarre moment the younger one bent over and the older hagg started spanking her arse quite vigorously no idea what prompted this and we thought it was quite amusing until later we learned they were mother and daughter .
