Goalkeepers: Frank Fielding, Elliott Parish, Dave Richards. 3

Defenders: Mark Little, Brendan Moloney, Derrick Williams, Karleigh Osborne, Aden Flint, Adam El-Abd, Greg Cunningham. 7

Midfielders: Scott Wagstaff, Wes Burns, Marlon Pack, Wade Elliott, Korey Smith, Bobby Reid, Luke Freeman, Joe Bryan, Jordan Wynter. 9

Strikers: Sam Baldock, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. 2

    21 first team players...

Not that big really. Wouldn't say we have a SOLID goalkeeper. In my opinion the defence looks ok, maybe 1 more addition. The midfield is our strongest position, think we need another winger though. Biggest problem though is upfront! Really need to get 2 more in, target man and another Baldock type.

Think we should send Wynter and Richards on loan and replace them with players who can slot into the first team but overall the squad is shaping up nicely! 4 or 5 more additions and we're good to go!

Shiny, I make that 21 First team players on that list, or are you saying we need a 23 man squad? We are very light in options up front, so would like another Striker in this week.

Twenty one senior members of the squad probably too many. I include Bryan, Burns and Reid as seniors.

I strongly suspect that two or maybe three of the list above will move permanently or on long term loans. (El Abd, Parrish, Wynter. ?)
Thus new recruits at Goalkeeper, Centre Back and Striker will take it back to 21.
We then have six (?) First year pros like Morrell, Batten etc who should be showing enough to be used as subs.

SC has publicly stated he wants a smaller squad but with better quality than we had last season. For this reason, players are less likely to be pigeon holed into one position and many of the squad will be expected to perform in more than one role. Hence my remark that Korey Smith may be used in the back four if it suits the formation and tactics.

Definitely need one more striker, something different to Baldock. Need one more defender, and one more winger. I'm sure Redprint will agree with me wagstaffs position needs solving. Also need a keeper.

And if we can, get rid of el bad.. but that won't happen so no point discussing ut

    Sorry was indeed 21 players!

I wouldn't rule El-Abd moving on Lan. Apparently him and Cotts had a falling out and SC is trying to move him on. Moloney I feel isn't in Cotterills plans either and wouldn't be surprised if he is moved on. With all the players competing for the CM spots Wynter doesn't stand a chance and if we're going to get a decent player out of him he needs to go out on loan for the season. Would see if someone like Portsmouth or Plymouth want him, Wouldn't have to move to far and it looks like those 2 will have a good season!

Striker essential if only to cover injuries etc.Parish is not in plans and a goal keeper is a requirement.

Think SC will go for a bigger more powerful striker, getting another baldock type player in may hold up wes burns progress, he looked good in central striker role playing for Wales. Also think we may have a few trialists at the club this week.

I can see Wes Burns being pushed more central this season.

I just don't think he has what it takes... can see him in 2 years time playing for a conference side.

Think he's shown enough to have a semi decent career, nothing amazing.. the biggest problem is he gets knackered in half an hour

Hope I'm wrong but just can't see him being part of a successful city team. Same goes for Joe Bryan, the only one of the 3 youngsters who I think are good enough for the first team is Bobby Reid.... even then he isn't that great. Big year for all 3, need to really step up and help the team towards promotion...

Personally do not think Bryan or Burns are good enough for the first team.
