"He turned his Watford career around under the guidance of Dyche" I'm having a mental block as I actually don't remember it that way - must be getting old...
Looks as if our head coach knows that unless he performs he will be on the move. However, the 57-year-old insists he plans to honour his contract with the Hornets as he plots a return to the top flight. "I have another year's deal with Watford. Contracts are done also to be annulled, but I want to live this adventure here," he said. When asked if there had been interest from Bari as reports had suggested, Sannino replied: "Not only them. In Italy I had a few other situations but I wanted to continue here. "Our aim? Premier League."
Shame he did not go to Bari or one of his other "situations". We now have a half decent squad so I hope he does not mess it up
I'd love him to get us up, but it'd be against my logic if he did as I am not sure if he can cut the mustard, uncharted territory but he can do it! COME ON B.S. SURPRISE ME!!
I suspect that he will be given until mid October and if we are not challenging or at least top-half of the table and improving, he will be on his way.
That is my fear - it could represent two to three wasted months and then a rejig - and the chances of getting promotion then are much slimmer. He should have gone in May
Don't agree with you Leo. Not here to argue, just publicly make the point. Could be wrong but.... well, we'll see eh?
What on earth is a holibob - but it sounds good - can I have one I think it is a difficult call - and you could well be right - I hope I have to humbly apologize to him when we are points clear at the top after 3 months. I just fear he is not an inspirational leader and not the man to get the best out of a team - and am yet to see any kind of "Italian" defensive organisation - or ability to play beyond 85 minutes. Hopefully a pre-season will have given him time to work on those things. I have to admit that Malky apart I am not sure who else I would want to see here
I am very unsure about him.... a bit like Aidy but with no ideas... and Aidy only had plan A..... Bring back GFZ .... IMO...
Couldn't agree more. with the squad we now have he needs a very strong start to the season or he will be under great pressure from the off. Like you I just want to see a decent game plan emerging. Oh and I want a holibob too.
I think he inherited a team that was wallowing in its own self pity at not being able to reproduce the previous season's sparkling form. He made us hard to beat which was absolutely necessary as we were looking every inch relegation fodder for far too long. GFZ went into a Coppellesque meltdown which would have affected the players more. Yes, Sannino certainly did make mistakes, more than he should have I'll concede that much, but ultimately I think he was more hindered by the squad's own shortcomings. When a very average mid table team's shoo-in PotS is a 25 goal centre forward then I think that says more about the rest of the team than the manager. I think with the experience of last season and with the benefit of his own preparation before this I am confident we are in good shape to have the season we thought we'd have at the start of the last.
We should DEMAND a holibob - can't allow them only for Mexicans. Now I get jolidays I want holibobs Lot of good points there - and it seems there are no plans for change so hope your assessment is spot on.
I'm not convinced with BS and, if I am honest, don't expect him to still be in place by Christmas. However, I would love it, just love it if I were proved wrong. Holibobs for everyone.
