Good Morning Everyone, We should see our second signing of the week today!!! Former Italian U21 goalkeeper Marco Silvestri could very well put pen to paper today. Negotiations have been going on for a while, and a fee for around £500,000 has been agreed between Chievo Verona and Leeds. Silvestri spent the second half of last season on loan to Cagliari, and impressed. Now the 6-3 keeper looks likely to lead an Italian invasion to West Yorkshire. Personally, I don't know much about him, but £500,00 is supposed to be a bargain price!!! Anyone remember how much we paid for Kenny, or was he a free? Cellino has issued a statement through the YEP, telling prospective buyers of Ross McCormack that he is not for sale!!! "Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino and the club would like to respond to recent media speculation regarding Ross McCormack. "We would like to reiterate our desire to keep Ross McCormack at Leeds United. This desire includes keeping all of our best players as we look to build a stronger and successful squad for the 2014/15 Championship season. "Leeds United may not be the richest club in the Championship, but we do not need to sell our best players in order to run the club successfully." Blimey, fair play Cellino!!! Maybe this means that we'll lose our title 'feeder club' and will stop being associated with selling our best players to whom I consider lesser clubs, yes Norwich, I'm talking to you. Where yer!!!!!! With the goings on this week, I'm starting to feel a lot better about things at Elland Road... Keep going Cellino....
Morning all Interesting times a foot. I know nothing about this Italian keeper, but at 6 3 he should deal with those 6 yard box headers a lot better than Kenny when Tom Lees is asleep
Morning all. A new GK? Why, what's Kenny done wrong? - This is your A Level exam question for the day. Replies need to be under 5,000 words with correct English and no spelling mistakes. Now begin!! Hop we can hang on to Ross. Clearly if we don't, it'll be because someone is willing to pay £10m+ for him. Oh how life changes. We may not go up this season, but let's at least give ourselves the chance of top 6 and a play off.
Just read the fee is likely to be £450,000 for a young keeper who played in Serie A last season, what a bargain of a price. If he was English they would slap a £4m price tag on his head! Morning all
Morning all - No idea about the keeper but he sounds promising, we paid something like £750k for Kenny, didn't we have to sell Clayton to raise funds? Ross - Without a shadow of a doubt I believe he will be sold, Cellino issued that statement as a "pay my asking price or forget it" warning. Usually I would say make them play and refuse the request however we all know Ross is a form player, he loses confidence too quickly and having your seasons previous captain hand in a transfer request is not good for team morale. If this is our new beginning and Ross doesn't want to be part of it good luck to the one season wonder.
Morning all, Not much Leeds United can do if an 'unhappy' player wants to leave, so when he goes, good luck to the fly tipping pikey. Thought we paid QPR £400K for Kenny
Wrong, he played against Parma winning 1-0 so he kept a clean sheet in one game Oh and those two 3-0 defeats were against Juventus & Napoli, doubt he will face anyone with the quality of them in the championship
actually he played 2 1/2 games First game he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Parma Second game he was sent off in an away game against Napoli, after 54 minutes , when Napoli were leading 2-0 and his final game was away at Juventus, which Juve won 3-0 Given that both Juve and Napoli won by 3 clear goals when away to Cagliari, losing away by 3 clear goals to those teams, could be deemed a better performance than was expected ( yes I know this bit is clutching at straws Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Bucks just posted same info as I was typing this
Supposed wünderkid Jack Butland had 5 put past him by Bolton, 4 by Reading and Bournemouth and 3 by Wigan during his time with us.... Sometimes the defence is just rubbish
Good Morning All I didn't realise that Silvestri was going to be that cheap. I read on here a couple of days ago that it was more like £2 million but I forgot who said it. Also we've also done the deal for Tomasso Bianchi according to Inside Futbol
Ross will leave deffinately in my oppinion but what is refreshing is how we are not crumbling under the pressure to sell. We have made our stance on the player clear - yes, we will sell, if you pay X amount of money. Finally we appear to have some back bone. I imagine if this young keeper does sign it will be 500k plus add ons - so it could rise to two million if we get promoted etc. I don't know much about him but I didn't know about Daniel Bentley either and a lot of people were still hoping we would sign him.
