There is a time in life for when everyone knows enough is enough , if there is differences on transfers , this has been on going for at least a year , alas the hordes of poor loan signings in January , where obviously the board felt we were not going to get into the PL and refused to sanction spending. The fact we did get there now means that lessons learned are now prevailing , and it's the responsibility of the clubs management to act as one , and any disagreements are kept private. This is still appearing to be the case , but for how much longer. The clock is ticking , players are needed in key positions and I believe they will arrive , but they may not be Harry's choice , well at least all off them may not. The club needs stability and we all need stability , let's hope we get Caulker , Bryson , Rhodes , plus two more of a similar age and move on. TF has learnt and now is proving he has learnt , but it has the potential to turn into a difficult alignment with Harry and the sooner it's aligned or finished the better.
I have wanted Arry gone since the winter, and still hope he goes now, as he hasn't got us playing half decent football as a team yet, and it's hard to see that changing enough under him in the PL. Having said that while TF maybe reigning in Arry's desire to fill the team with more and many pensioners, unfortunately I don't expect him to give up on Arry until we are well into the relegation mire around November time again. Our promotion probably bought Arry more time, even though it was as tight as a....................., whatever rocks your boat today!
Same for Livermore as well- who along with Ince was for me a top target- also Iâd much rather we went in for Ba over McCormack So Mr young millionaire where would rather spend your youth? Hull or London? No brainer. Course they would rather sign for us if there was no gap in wages. Exact reason why Remy came to us and not Newcastle Arry sulked so much last season over not getting his way with Wayne Bridge he sent Yun out on loan and brought in BAE on big wages. Itâs obvious to any one with more than 1 brain cell that we should have kept Yun and invested the £1.5m we through down the toilet on BAEâs wages on a 4th striker (Lewis Grabban for example) so we werent completely ****ed when Austin,AJ and BZ inevitaly got injured. That to me is a good example why Harry is a lucky shunt who got away with it last year and is off message with the clubs medium/long term needs and more concerned with his old ways and maximising his short time left in the spot light. Which incedntally why an ageing millionaire still pops up on talksport every 2 mins talking about anything other than Rangers and turns up on programmes like Jack Whitehalls back chat with the bird off countdown. If it is as it looks from afar that Harry would rather we brought in Fat Frank, Rio, Ba and Defoe instead of Livermore, Bryson, McCormack and Ince. If thatâs the case then I would sack him and bring in Eddie Howe- sadly think Dyche and McClaren have too much honur to ditch Burnley and Derby. Hope Iâm wrong but will find out over the next 6-8 weeks
He's not going anywhere whether you like it or not. There would have been decent clauses written into his contract should he gain promotion back to the PL and I don't think he will give them up.
Maybe true that he’s staying- but talk of some tricky clause on hiom getting us promoted is rubbish- when he signed a contract with us his job was to keep us in the prem. Cant imagine he had a contract in January 2013 while we were in the prem that said- if I get relgated this year then get back up next year then you cant sack me after that. He’s got a year left- if he isnt behind our transfer policy pay him his final year and wave himon his way- its much more important than him- If Demba Ba signs then we havent learnt anything- hoping its all paper talk rubbish
I'd trust Tony to look after the club and Redknapp to look after himself. Hopefully there is a weird kind of synergy where everybody gets what they want. It's already too late to go changing managers without losing pre season and squad building to a plan. Unless Klinsmann wants in to the project. If we don't get anyone in but end up with motivated and on form Taarabt, Remy, Granero and Cesar in the team I'll be very happy.
Someone wrote on another forum, there's only one chairman who didn't trust him, levy. All the others went into admin withing a couple of years of him leaving. He's upped the stakes publicly announcing Ferdinand will sign next week. Probably hoping the fans will want hom but they dont, were on tonys side.
Ive read through this and as usual the opinions vary widely, but, I havent read anything yet that quashes that nagging doubt in my mind that there is some friction. of course to have a strong team you do need differing opinions and there will be the inevitable friction, but usually they are all driving toward the same goal. At QPR, it seems Tf and the board are aiming for the future 5-10 years and want to invest and stay in the prem. With Harry it seems as if he ia aiming for the next 12 months and long term really isnt in his thinking....so...overall both parties want to stay up next season but thats where the team-work and direction ends... Im not sure if it would be a good idea to sack him now and take a few early loses... or let it play out and say goodbye next season. We will, i assume be doing the very same thing next year no matter where we are. Personally, i think they need to sit down now and draw out the "battle lines". If either party cannot fully buy into what we want to achieve, then its "Thanks and goodbye Harry". i'd like to believe that he really could keep us up and develop our squad, but Im just not sure. he's done it before in the Prem & his mandate now wil be very different to that of last season (where admittedly he did get lucky - but achieved his objective) hopefully he will know more about whats required in this league than the last... I suppose the added distraction of the World Cup hasnt helped with contacting players and agents. The close season is even more nervy than the last. its going to be an intresting 6 weeks "KEEP THE FAITH BROTHERS!!"
That's exactly what does worry some....... ......anyway 44 days to bring in whoever we need to bring in, get them all fit, work on the motivation, focus, tactics and what it means to be a team and get 25 points from the 19 games before the end of the year.
Strangely enough, as opposed to the last in the PL, I somehow think we will survive ok and we won't be in the shoot-out at the end of the season. What proof do I have ............. zip, except for a gut feeling and that Triffic Harry will still be with us. ( I've always been pro Harry ) The way I see it, I do not suffer the same desperation stakes that we did last time round ..... regardless of what team we have, I really do think we can cruise through ..... and the bookies can shove it!
Im up for some of that positive stuff too Aussie... Well be cheering wins in the Pig & Whistle should you care to join us mate
I do worry that we've lost valuable time with no outward signs of progress (I'm sure there has been a lot done behind the scenes but from here it's impossible to say). I would have spent the first couple of weeks of June watching videos of anyone NOT in the World Cup and then made some enquiries while everyone was distracted by Thierry Henry's extensive selection of cardigans and Glen Hoddle's disturbing ability to spread his legs even further apart with every game. I would have had contracts drawn up - potentially two for each player out of contract and handed them out the day after the Final. Obviously there's a lot that one party can't control in any deal but we know that we need some additions and we're not far from pre-season and still aren't sure who's staying from last year.
Don't worry, at least we aren't saints, lalana, Lambert, Shaw gone, schnederlin and lovren to follow. New manager too. Give it until Aug 1st and then get worried if we haven't bought in more than 3.
Some interesting thoughts on here......think Queens has hit nail on head in that although both TF and Harold want the same thing, prem survival, the Board are looking longer term whereas Harold is only looking to the end of the season, hence his obsession with Ferdinand, Parker, Bent unless that is just paper talk... IMO the Board should stick to their guns on this one, we have had too much short termism and either Harold toes the line or he departs.....I must admit the thought of relegation this season doesn't really faze me too much as long as we have a core of young players there would be every chance that we would come straight back up, whereas if Harold gets his way we would be looking to re-build yet again. Tone and the Board have to win this argument....
