I wouldn't go that far but if this is true then it would send a good message out that we're going to play hard business and find players who really want to play for us under a reasonable contract. And who knows... Rio might buckle and accent a contract one even further reduced wages.

Redknapp is trying to force Tony's hand. He's using the media to try to back TF into a corner, it won't work though. Also, do we need 5 CBs, that means we will be short somewhere else. I'd rather caulker and another young player to go with the 3 we have.
He probably doesn't even want him, he's probably hoping someone else comes in so we have to get Ferdinand, just seen on a Cardiff board coming back to London is a big thing for him.
